Nice job. I like the old format better. - cabin
Me too. I'm in a division with nobody that posts on here for us. I liked to play before because I liked the chance at playing against everyone else that posts on here, but there's only 2 other Sabres fans in my division and neither of them post on the board. |

9 wins is not good enough, well here in Buffalo it is. Marrone's game managment is horrible as is his offense. - SABRES 89
I agree it's not good enough, but to say he's completely incapable of managing games just isn't right. With this offense, this team could have easily been 6-10. |

While I wouldn't write off EJ yet I certainly agree that IMO he's not the answer. In his limited career so far he's done nothing to show me that he has the 'it factor'. He has talent and a strong arm but I don't think he has the head for the game. He's not a play maker.
The Orton move saved Marrone his job but he's obviously not the answer either.
I want no part of Cutler. Too much money and he's a turnover machine; I don't care what team/coach he plays for.
One option could be Sam Bradford. Plagued by injuries and a monster contract but I think he's out unless he restructures BIG TIME and what player is going to give away millions. He has the talent. Draft some O linemen and make a run at him. - Pairo11
I like Bradford but I was reading something that said they were going to keep him I think, why the Bills won't address the O line is beyond me. |

I'll take Orton, Lewis and EJ stink. - SABRES 89
89 With Orton you get 8 wins maybe 9 if you are lucky... What is the sense in that if you want to make improvements? The guy runs slower than me and that is bad. He misses receivers 3 yards away overthrows wide open receivers downfield..... Orton is no better than Manuel or Lewis..... no worse but no better... |

How can you say he can manage a game? how many times this year has he screwed it up? 5 or more times. How many 4th and 1's do you really have to punt on when you haven't made the playoff's in 14 years? That's just 1 of his downfalls. |

EJ couldn't hit a WR if the guy was 10ft wide. |

With Manuel, this team ends up with 7. He doesn't win any of the games Orton lost, and he loses the Lions game and the Minnesota game as well. |

I guess you won't be watching, trade EJ for Sam Bradford if you can get him away from the Rams or grab Cutler. Cutler can throw the ball from one end of the field to the other, who catches that ball is another story. IMO, Cutler has way to much pressure on him with the Bears, maybe a change will help him. Not saying it will be in Buffalo, just saying. |

Clearly there is a big problem at QB.
With the caliber of this Defense (and Kiko coming back) they have to make a move for a game changer at QB next year. It's got to happen. I think this D can win a Super Bowl and I'm the most pessimistic, negative Buffalo sports fan you will ever come across. |

The Buffalo Sabres have the pieces to make a pitch for Oilers winger Taylor Hall. Options could include defensemen Tyler Myers and Mark Pysyk, forward Cody Hodgson and goalies Jhonas Enroth or Michal Neuvirth. They could also include first-round draft picks acquired from the NY Islanders and St. Louis Blues.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: I can see the Sabres making a pitch for Hall, especially if they land Connor McDavid or Jack Eichel in the draft, but that proposed return doesn’t sufficiently address the Oilers needs. Enroth and Neuvirth could be Scrivens or Fasth revisited, Myers isn’t the experienced top-two defenseman capable of anchoring a rebuilding defense while Hodgson hasn’t proven himself as a reliable top-six forward.
I disagree what he mentions about Myers, if that was the case 6-7 teams wouldn't want him. Enroth is better then both of the Oiler goalies and Hodgson isn't as bad as some say, he looks lost at times but has talent. - SABRES 89
A couple things 89. For the last several months, Spector has had a particular hate against the Sabres players in the rumors section that he posts. If we are trading Myers and Pysyk in a trade for Hall, we severely deplete our D depth moving forward. My guess that makes more sense is if we are picking 3rd or 4th in the draft and pick Hanifin or Kylington, then Murray can make an offer to the Oilers for Hall that could include Myers+. I don't believe that Hall is available right now.

I agree, Orton is the lesser of two evils because his passing game is marginally better than EJ's and he appears to be a better game manager. Everyone knows the Bills need a better QB AND..AND. A much, much better OL. I really hope we draft one or two high quality OLs and maybe a TE. A QB trade is hopefully being looked at, or maybe there's a nice QB project in the 2nd or third round like that Rodgers guy, Cap or Wilson. We have a lot of great pieces in place and are not far from the playoffs at all. Just try to remember where we were in 2010. |

89... You don't think ANY new QB with the Bills will be under immense pressure to perform well? It goes back to the Jim Kelly days dude. How can anyone follow him and not be under pressure? Cutler would be a huge mistake... Might as well bring Tebow in here.... Say what you want about him but everywhere he has played he has won. Who gives a crap about stats? Just win baby...... |

How about this? Why not look at the CFL for a QB? There has to be at least 5 QB's there who would improve the Bills situation immediately... |

All I heard over the holiday was, they talked about Hall and that's it, nothing more as of now. The Oilers want Myers and Psysk ( they have wanted Psysk) My guess is even if Hall is on the block, the Oilers will take the best package they can get but, we would have a shot because of the picks and talent we have.

Who's to say that Manuel doesn't play poorly for the first 57 minutes if those games like Orton did.
Orton had 3 turnovers in those games.
There is sort of this revisionist history starting about Manuel where is seems he was incapable of making any throws. |

There's a ton of D depth in free agency this year. If you're looking for a bottom 4, there's Paul Martin, Z Michalek, M Staal (won't be available), Eric Brewer, Beauchemin, Boychuk, Franson, Hejda, Methot, Irwin.. I suspect if Myers were to be traded, we'd need one or two..one of the above and one like Benoit. |

I just can't trade Myers.. There's too much upside and he's so young. I like Hall but I can't trade Myers yet. (I think I'm in the minority on this one). |
