Future is only 2-3 years. Grossman is a warrior and the best defensive defenseman on the team at the moment and Streit can easily play until he is 40. Kimmo was still effective, Jagr is still going, plenty of guys these days are playing longer than before. My version of the future has these Dmen until their contracts are up and then they are replaced by the younger guys. If you were to deal everyone now. You'd be left with:
AMac- MDZ
Streit - Grossman
Laurisden - Alt (Possibly let him stay in the minors)
Manning
At the end of the season, if Alt played well he gets a spot, if not you grab two UFAs short term. 2 Years later Grosmann is gone, Morin likely is ready by then maybe even before. Streit is done the year after and Ghost will be on his way up. Pronger's contract is now finally off the books. This frees up a good amount of space for any more Dmen to fill up the team if Haag, Sanheim and Pettersson are not ready. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Grossmann's defensive prowess is vastly overrated. He works hard and he plays tough, but he's not some great shut down guy.
I'm sure Streit can play another year or two. but at the TDL, he could also end up being worth a late 1st rounder.
If Lauridsen is in the NHL again, it will likely be with an expansion team. He's really made little or no progress and I doubt he's in team's long term plans at this point.
There's not a single untouchable on this roster of defensemen. If I got value for any of them, I'd happily agree to make a move |

First period recap: The Yotes sucked, the Flyers sucked a bit more - BiggE
Except sadly they didnt..
Flyers outshot them significantly, controlled most of the play and held them without a shot for something like 7 consecutive minutes.
What looked like a save-able goal is the big difference. |

The greatest blooper in the history of film. Except this is actually *in* the theatrical cut. In fact it's in every release except the newest Blu-Ray set. - ThirdEye
They cut it? Damnit. For the one remaster, Lucas actually added the "thunk" |

The point of Laurisden is to just take up a roster spot for the year. This team won't that much worse with him than they guys playing together. You could trade streit before the final year, not disagreeing there but right now you can't really trade away everyone, aside from Laurisden, Manning and maybe Konan the rest of the Dmen down in the minors have some potential. I only want the 3 guys whos only shot at the NHL comes right now, maybe we get lucky and one of these guys actually pans out. |

Mason battling the puck a bit. To be expected 1st game back from injury. Vinny with a marvelous defensive gaffe. |

I'm going in March. I plan on watching a bunch of no names play spring training games for the Phillies. By no names I mean the actual starting lineup |

The guy I'd love to see them move the most at the deadline is MacDonald. Although a late first for Streit would be nice, I could live with him for another year or so. |

4th line is working hard and a couple sustained offensive zone shifts, generating some scoring chances. Bad turnover a moment ago though that was dangerous. |

They can sign a UFA for a couple years if Streit is traded. Nobody on this D is irreplaceable. I'm not saying trade everyone, I'm saying that I would trade any of them, if I got value. |

I can live with keeping any of them, as well... I'm not saying trade them all, I'm saying if you get good value for one of them, jump at it. |
