They'd likely have to shuffle bodies a bit to fit him, send Zepp down and maybe Colaiacovo, but definitely worth it - Jsaquella
They're carrying 8 dmen so waiving Colaiacovo is no big deal. Worst case scenario is that he's claimed and Manning, Hagg or Alt have to be used as the 7th dman. |

Exactly. If Berube isn't gonna play him, no need to sit on him and wait when you have a shot to grab a guy 23 year old guy that could be a solid player. |

Looking into why Grossmann's Corsi is so bad, but +/- is so good.
Flyers have a .958 save percentage with him on the ice (first on team amongst dmen).
Flyers have a 9.82 shooting percentage with him on ice (2nd on team amongst dmen).
Grossmann receives fairly balanced zone starts (48.5%).
Grossmann logs his most minutes with Streit, G and Jake.
Grossmann's QoC is about average for the Flyers defenseman, but his QoC against opposing defenseman is higher than his QoC against opposing forwards. This is the result of playing quite a bit with Giroux and Voracek.
I think Grossmann's +/- is a little misleading in that he's reaped the benefits of playing with G, Voracek and Streit quite a bit, while getting lucky in regards to his own team's save%.
Tbh, Coburn and Schultz have been doing the heavy lifting in regards to QoC, QoT and zone starts. It's way more impressive that Schultz is a +7 |

@senstats you keep your stats... Never been a minus in my career.. Yet a Corsica rating somehow makes sense? It's stats for nerds |

Flyers process should be simple. Look at the D and if you don't see that guy in your future trade him. Right now I'd be dealing whom ever we can. I'd keep Grossmann, MacDonald, MDZ and Streit and trade everyone else for prospects/picks. You have two empty slots which scrubs like Laurisden and Manning who can play 3rd pair minutes. Skill level is irrelevant because we know exactly where this team stands already.
As for coach. I'd stick with Berube and try for Babcock. If you lose out, we hire another guy instead. |

So you see the banged up and becoming less effective Grossmann and the 37 year old Streit in the future? |

Wasn't he one of the names mentioned last year in the rumored Coburn deal? |

Hagg is sliding in the AHL this year, so I'd prefer he stays there until the end of the year. |

Deboer could be an interesting candidate. Why is everyone so down on Bylsma? The guy did win a Cup. Yes the Penguins had a lot of talent, but they were often crippled by injuries, and with the exception of the one Cup season MAF has been a sieve in the playoffs. I would be open minded to Bylsma, DeBoer, Boucher, and even Paul Maclean. I thought he did a pretty good job in Ottawa with not a ton of talent. He won the Jack Adams in 2012-2013. All these coaches sure have much better resumes, and pedigree than Berube. - PLindbergh31
bylsma is a very likable guy, with pros and cons of his own like any coach. however, i really do not think he is the guy you guys would want. |

Whatever the Flyers are going to do, they better do quickly. It seems to me apathy is starting to sink in with the fanbase. That is not something that can easily go away either since they have no star prospects, won't be a getting a top pick this year, and have virtually no cap space. |

Meh, their fanbase is pretty loyal. Hell, they missed the playoffs 5 years running in the early 90's and while they weren't selling out every game, even prior to the Lindros acquisition, they were playing at 90%+ capacity.

The building is always going to be pretty full, after all it is only about 20,000 people, but what about tv ratings and apparel sales? It would be interesting to see the ratings. |

Its not even their record that really bothers me, its the cap situation moving forward for the years to come |
