Heatley on waivers. 1mill contract. Is he worth a try at this point? I say yes. - usethe1-2-2
This has a lou lamerillio dumpster dive written all over it. Devils need another slow washed up forward. Maybe with a little luck he can drive the team bus? |

I think he is a third line guy at best, but I think he is a better pick up than Heatley - usethe1-2-2
He's a Stempniak. He can play top 6 while we're hurting and then get bumped back down when everyone's healthy. Plus I think he's skilled enough that he can give Sutter a good enough winger to send BB up to the top 6. Barring further trades, our lineup could look like this:
Bennett-Crosby-Hornqvist
Kunitz-Malkin-Comeau
Paajarvi-Sutter-Downie
Klinkhammer-Goc-Rust/Adams
That looks formidable to me. Add a trade for a guy like Jagr or Tlusty and we send Comeau out of the top 6 for an even deeper lineup. Duper could also come back to make us that much better too. |

Not too shabby. I still like Hornqvist better with Malkin. |

Crosby changed his game a bit after the concussions, but he still put up very good goal scoring numbers. But since that wrist injury last year, he's been well below his average.
These stats include playoffs...
Pre-concussion Crosby:
Games: 474
Goals: 245
Goals per game: .52
Post-concussion Crosby before wrist injury:
Games: 148
Goals: 67
Goals per game: .45
After wrist injury Crosby:
Games: 55
Goals: 13
Goals per game: .24 - rival22
This is my point... Hope he is really OK..

1.2 cap hit. Very stomachable. This is the kind of serviceable top 6 guy for cheap everyone's been wanting. He's just been stuck in situations where forward depth has gotten the better of him his whole career. He'd do admirably on Sid or Geno's wing. - Victoro311
I agree. He can play 3rd line no doubt, but obviously he would get the Crosby/Malkin effect and would look great on the top lines. |

Um BB unfortunately will be injured 2 games after coming back, duper isn't coming back and I am hoping adams retires..so hit reshuffle on line combos

And I like Bennett with Geno better. I'm all for giving Malkin Bennett and Hornqvist, but then Sid has to deal with a not-so-spry anymore Kunitz and a guy who really shouldn't be there like Comeau. Maybe if Dupuis comes back Kuntiz, Sid, and Duper can find what they use to have together and catch fire which would justify the Malkin super line, but I just don't see that happening. |

Gotta plan for Sweet Beau's return and hope for the best, didn't put Dupuis on there because I know he's a long shot, and I put Adams in as an alternate. I'd say these lines are fairly realistic.

Its well documented that I want Jags back on our team, but timing is everything we have to get him now to reduce his workload now so he is effective come playoffs.
Just for fun I want everyone to take notice of the chances Sid produces in the slot for his wingers tonight, I am a huge Duper fan but he was also guilty of having prime opportunities and not always cashing in, Jagr doesn't miss those opportunities he buries them.

Read josh yohe said dumo is in and Harrington is out. If that's true then dumo is obviously being showcased. Harrington has been good considering his age and the role he has been forced into |

I disagree, think Harrington needs more time in AHL , Dumo is definitely better at the 'eye' test for me. |

As evidence by his whopping one goal in his last 34 playoff games.
Brooks Orpik and Brian Gibbons have more.
If you have to cater to babying someone's minutes in order to have him be effective for the playoffs then that should tell you he's not worth the trouble. Even if they do that he's still 43 when the playoffs arrive and when is the last time someone that age made a difference?
I'm going to have to disagree with you on this Barts. I know there are plenty of fans that would love to bring him back but I don't think it is a good idea from a hockey perspective. I don't care about what happened with the Flyers incident and stuff like that. If I thought he would help the team I wouldn't have a problem but I just rather see them go in a different direction. Someone younger. Jagr has been on some good playoff teams and he hasn't done anything much with them. I don't see that changing if he joined the Pens. |

Well I totally understand where your coming from, but I think that if Jags is only here to finish plays and not be expected to create his own opportunities which is what was expected of him in BOS and NJ I truly believe he will be an effective pick up.

He was thrown right into the fire. Top pair, big tough minutes, and came out looking ready. Tough to say he isn't ready. Is he ready enough to boot Bortz and Scuds? I think so, but that's not my call. |

I agree with this... I have no hard feelings at all towards Jagr, and want the team to recognize him/retire his number, etc., but I don't want to trade for him either.

Bennett probably back for Wednesday. God do we need him. Everyone go to your nearest church, synagogue, mosque, or whatever and pray for his health. He can't break again. |
