I never thought in a million years a 185 lbs player like Simmonds would be considered a power forward. God I miss Lindros and LeClair. - GOA88
Hell, this team could use a couple of guys like Shjon Podein, Trent Klatt, Scott Mellanby and Derrick Smith. |

Simmonds is a good fighter, but he's 182 lbs and built like a toothpick. Sadly, their only forwards with decent size are Umberger, Vinny, Jake and VDV and none of them are known for physical play. They could really use a couple big wingers with decent speed who like to mix it up a bit. - BiggE
I like Simmonds. I guess I wish he brought a little more. I know he is good in front of the net and on the PP but bringing a little more ES would be nice. If they don't get Powerplays how much do you really notice him out there.
I like guys lie Beleksy who can score but then also can do something else if they aren't scoring or the team needs a little energy. |

So then why would the Yotes make the deal? Think of it the other way around. How would you feel if Hextal traded your stud defensman for prospect, B. Schenn who we still don't know what he is and a pick. - J35Bacher
I can dream ! And I'd offer them any package that didn't include G or J? |

I'm developing a man crush on the 17 yoa power forward Canada has Crouse would look good on our top line in a few years |

Hexy, I know you like your young D prospects but get on the phone and offer Sanheim B. Schenn, a 1st and whatever else and get us OEL. Complete stud and one of the best all around defensmen I have seen since NL ... - iskatefast
NO! This team is not one defensemen away from winning the cup, especially if you lose secondary scoring in B Schenn. Stay the course, patience is not a 5 month long process. Trade everything you can of value that is not the 'core' (as defined by Hexy) asap or at the TDL at the latest. Fire the coach over the off season. Draft well and hire someone with experience over the summer. Compete in two years once the young D has arrived. Stay the course.
Edit: I am not saying no to this deal (it would be a steal and wouldn't happen) just the idea of trading away many young assets, even for a stud young D man. Stay the course. |

Not good enough. This draft must yield an NHL ready player immediately. |

I would say...
Giroux, Voracek, Simmonds, Schenn, Laughton, Couts... players that would draw the most interest.
Coburn, Read, Grossmann, L.Schenn, Del Zotto.... players that could bring in 2nd to 4th rd picks. |

I'm not saying OEL makes us a true Cup contender. He sure would help...and secondary scoring can be replace in FA. I have no problem with being patient. I believe OEL is one of those talents that is worth making a bold move for. |

Simmonds has been fine even strength. Scored a big game winning goal against wild. His has improved greatly in his even strength play over the past couple years. Laughton is a bit in over his head if we think he's going to score at a 2nd line NHL pace. He's just not ready for that. That whole line had trouble with getting good scoring chances. Yotes d is excellent. They prob wouldn't want any of our guys that's how bad the disparity is |

He's good. He may even become great. I just feel that "bold" move should be made for the Weber types. |

Wasn't the PK a strength of this team last year?
Maybe Kimmo Timonen, even at his age, was better than we all thought. |

If questions about his finishing ability continue to dog him, and dudes like Marner and Kylington pass him, chances are he could drop into the 5-10 range. |

Where are we going to draft is the better question. The Flyers definitely have a shot at the 3 to 5 range. |
