Parenteau scored 20 goals once in his career. Playing with John Tavares.

Not sure what people were expecting from him... he was acquired in exchange of Daniel Briere FFS!

Parenteau's being given an opportunity to play with good players for almost every night of the season. There's no expectation that he's going to pot 30. The expectation is that he'll compete hard enough to score. Not scoring for 12 straight is an indication that he needs to compete harder and get to the scoring areas.

His ice-time has rarely dipped, and never for any extended stretch of games.

Your comment makes it seem like it's unjustified to mention his lack of production because everyone should just expect he be crap. He's not crap. He can be better. He knows it.

Wasn't work ethic the big concern with this guy coming in?

He's a 40 point player playing at roughly that pace, no?

He just wasn't a fit in Colorado--not in the role they gave him there. He had injury issues too.

Bottom line is that he can be better.

He's got 15 points in 36 games.

A marginal improvement is still an improvement.

It would be nice to see a bit more effort. When he was playing for a contract with the NYI, he was actually hitting people too...

Oh I agree he should contribute more.

I'm just saying his 2 best seasons came when he was playing with one of the best center in the game in John Tavares. He's more of a 35-40pts player than a 60+ pts player. And he's pretty much on pace for 35 points.

I wonder when Ek will start posting blogs about how Dany Briere is being misused in COL now that he has 8 points there too….

Galchenyuk has struggled in his matchups last 2 games. we knew this would happen. this is his first time being the top centre on the road. fortunately we've won the first two so i don't see MT abandoning the experiment, but i am concerned about what happens after 1 or 2 losses in which that line accomplishes little. i hope he's allowed to play through.

i thought he was one of the more noticeable forwards last night. although that's not saying much. Montreal had 35 shot attempts.

Yes, it's true there were some defensive lapses that forced Carey Price to come up with some excellent saves through all three periods of the game. And yes, that's become a pattern all too often this season, but over 82 games, you work towards perfection and you probably don't expect to achieve it by game 36.
- EricEngels

Stop with the excuses, Eric. This team will never achieve perfection on defense. It is possibly one of the worst group of defensemen I have ever seen. What a disaster!

The Oilers have an AHL defense. The Habs have two quality defensemen (one that should be a number 3 at this point in his career), the rest are absolute garbage. Beaulieu will probably be decent some day.

Also, PK isn't playing like a number 1. He blows as well.
