Last night was the straw that broke the cam's back.

You guys over in the loser thread all fight about what's wrong with the team, the truth is you are all right.
It's a (frank)ing mess from ownership down.

I'm sorry I typed loser thread, I won't delete it..but sorry.

I don't generally talk hockey on here with all the cock talk from these guys, but I think some serious changes must take place. But they won't. They could have started it last year with #3 and RC being some pieces to cut ties with.

The owners know they need to blow it up but how can you tell the fans after so many years that another rebuild is needed.

Someone will go postal, not even joking.
Maybe they can do a partial rebuild.

I think the habs have a collapse coming.

Remember when they'd do that 10 years ago?

Might as well use the preliminary games to see which goalie is hot
- Pecafan Fan

disagree. tomorrow is by far the toughest test and last game before the 1/4 final. whoever gets that game is the goalie they want to see play the medal round. unless Comrie completely craps the bed tomorrow i imagine he'll start the rest of the way.

This is what I don't get about the Leafs' owners. They know no matter what is on the ice, fans will still come. So why not have a few years of putting cheap garbage on the ice to build up some picks and such. Better than expensive garbage and getting the same results.

because hope sells. so even if you're still filling the ACC, there's questions about merchandise sales, ad revenues, TV viewership... all for something that might not even work (see Edmonton). i don't think it's as simple as that. the fact is that while Leaf fans aren't happy with mediocrity, they do settle for it and open their wallets. maybe Rogers and BCE aren't interested in going down that other rabbit hole and from a business perspective, it's hard to blame them. especially if they manage to squeeze into the playoffs this year, generate some extra home dates.

They don't want to suffer the loss of revenue from not making the playoffs...

I suppose you're right. Any idea on how much they make for those 2 home playoff games?

Playing not to lose instead of playing to win.

The whole organization just lacks leadership, everyone trying to save their own ass and not willing to bite the bullet with a decision that will be thrown in their face if it doesn't pan out...even if it's the right thing to do.

Also, keeping a GM from the previous regime almost guaranteed more of the same... Unlike Bergevin who came in with NO ALLEGIANCE to anyone on the roster and/or organization...

He's played his cards well to date. There was nothing preventing the leafs from doing something similar...they opted not to, and now they even locked up some players from a rotted core...
