I know this is mean, but it happened to the US in 2012 so (frank) 'em. I hope Finland and the Czech Republic both end up in 5th and the Czech Republic wins the best of 3. |

Sounds more like a TSN guy pumping up his station and trying to hide it behind some sort of national pride. Personally, I hope the ratings in Canada for the game today are a bit disappointing up there, so that they never show a game like this as a matinee ever again. - buffalofan19
4;00 game sucks on a work day. Then the Sabres on at 6:00. |

It just doesn't make any sense, especially because, as I understand it, TSN basically gets to determine what game is played when as part of their TV deal. |

Canada goes with Comrie instead of Fucale. Interesting move not going with the goaltender that stole the game against the US and gave its best player nightmares last year. |

For those asking about 4pm start, it was Canada's decision in scheduling. They wanted to get to Toronto as early as possible to prep for QF." |

So, based on games so far, if you have the 1st pick in June...who you taking #1?
For me, I am sticking with Jack Eichel...just like his style more, and he is generating Offense on that team almost single-handed. No knock against McDavid...but it seems to me Reihardt is out playing him.
Caveat- I have only seen bits and pieces of Canada games. |

McDavid is also coming off an injury. Let's not forget that. Not that Eichel is a bad choice, but Reinhart outplaying him probably has a lot to do with the kind of shape McDavid is in. |

The official story is that it was the two teams decision . Because they both are in the medal round , which is in Toronto . They have both been playing in Montreal and wanted to get a jump traveling from Montreal to Toronto which is about an 8 Hour drive. They felt it would be a disadvantage traveling later as the teams playing in the Toronto pool would be at an advantage. |

Craig Button posted something about the two of them on TSN.ca the other day. Said that Eichel was better in the tournament so far (through 2 games) and that he's making it very difficult for whatever team picks 1st overall to just go with McDavid.
That said, I think whoever picks 1, will still go with McDavid. |

And a random thought from yesterday's convo on Bills QB situation.
What do you think of trading EJ straight up for Gino Smith? Maybe a change of scenery would do both some good? If Marone stays, I can't see EJ getting another solid chance from him. |

It was a hand injury and he was only out about a month I believe. I would actually point to Reinhart being older and having less pressure on his shoulders being the reason he's played better. He's already been drafted. I think it changes the dynamic a bit. |

Still lots of time for them to switch spots over and over. Tough decision if I had to make it . Leaning towards Eichel at the moment. |

I Would love to see Pegula bid for this Tourney to be held inHockey Heaven in the coming years. buffalo would go nuts for it...and they could overflow games into Rochester ..nice set-up to further the cause! |

Word is Bradford is staying with the Rams . So that dream scenario is a no go. |

As far as I know, Buffalo hasn't placed a bid for it this time around. Pittsburgh and Tampa sound like the frontrunners. |

That would be perfect . Even Buffalo - Hamilton would work great. |

Still, being out for a month is tough getting back into game shape, no matter how much conditioning you do. All I'm saying is if McDavid were playing actual games in that month stretch, you might at least see the gap decrease. Eichel has been playing better, but he hasn't exactly set the tournament on fire either. |
