Deal, as long as you all promise not to cash it till i develop some sort of sustainable income - Sabresfan-365 or, or ... Just fund my night there ... I'll "represent".
No big boy job yet ... No wonder why you fit in with the rest of us misfits!
Best of luck to Team Canada ... Just make sure if you win, Reinhart is the dominant force! |

If those two mid-late first round picks don't generate a player worth building a franchise around, then no, it's nowhere near a championship caliber forward group, even if they all play as well as they are projected to, which rarely happens in the first place. - buffalofan19
If they can't get the player to build around, next best thing would be to build around a core group of players (you'd have to hope almost all of them live up to their potential, and you'd have to find a way to maximize returns on those you don't think will get to their ceiling).
It wouldn't be my first choice as i'd rather have "that guy" + the core but I think a good GM can make it work. Although I think I'd put Hanifin in the group of players you can build around. Leaves your forwards a little short on fire power but I think the top 4 going forward *should* make up for it. |

Agreed.
He probably will be, Duclair-Domi-Reinhart has been outstanding so far. |

A top 4 with Myers, Hannifin, Risto, and Zads more than makes up for a group of forwards that isn't even bad (or close to bad) to begin with. |

Even if it doesn't, they've got assets to work with to make the group up front at the very least "good".
I too would rather it be balanced at each position but if not then i suppose you try to play to your strengths. Having a guy like Hanifin probably helps them out on special teams as well.
Edit: I grow more convinced with each passing day that Hanifin should be considered a player to build around. I still fear a jack johnson 2.0 but he looks like he'll be a good #1 for years. |
