The only reasoning I can think of is Raffl's been suffering a drop-off of his own. This is probably just a change of pace thing for Berube. - tangent_man
They have to somehow get Read going offensively. He has to be squeezing that stick tight.

I'm fine with it. I would have broken up Read and Couts a while ago actually. I've wanted him to spread the offensive/defensive talent throughout the lineup. It would help balance zone starts and QoC imo. |

Gotta try something at this point.
Hell, if Vinny and Umberger can start scoring goals again, there's hope for everybody.

I've heard the rumors. Doesn't mean they should stop trying.

No, not now. I normally instigate at the beginning of the day then leave and check back later to see the damage done. |

You know, in all honesty I don't see why that would work any worse than what has gone before it.
Now, if only coach saw the Umburglar as a 4th line player. |

I know. I just don't believe VL or Umberger are capable of keeping up with other team's top 9 forwards. They need to be sheltered. It's much easier sheltering them on the 4th line.
VL has played his best hockey on the 4th line. I know he hates it, but thats the truth. It's been that way for 2 years now. It's the only time he's been even moderately effective. I don't see why they would change something that's been proven for 1.5 years now. |

He is a very effective fourth-liner. Not a crime, at his age |

It is what it is. A full season on the 4th line and 2nd PP unit would likely result in 15-20 goals. That might be enough to help facilitate a trade. |
