The way this whole thing went down is just strange. But I would think that any other team would be a bit skeptical of him because of it as well. It's not like Pegula has a reputation for treating his employees badly. In fact, it's just the opposite. - HonkFortheGoose
when he said he was not going to talk about his contract at the presser, I wanted him gone |

This was my initial thought.
I find it odd that Marrone trashed the organization to Polian. Why would a team hire a back stabber ? - sbroads24
???
EDIT: Nevermind. Just saw Tim Graham's tweet. |

My fears are coming true. Whaley and Brandon are clowns. Marrone was a higher quality person than they are. Now no one will touch this dumpster fire. |

I don't think I agree with much of this. While I'm not a Brandon fan, if he's removed from the football side of things completely and is kept around to do marketing stuff, I'm fine with it. He's good at that.
Whaley has done quite a bit with this roster. I'm fine with giving him more time to fill in the holes.
Marrone seemed to think his poop didn't stink and that his decisions were the right ones, even when it was completely obvious they weren't. His ego got so big while he was here I'm impressed he could even fit his head in the locker room. |

Marrone is no Bellicheck, but the rift between mgmt and Doug was obvious all year. Whaley screwed up blowing 2 years firsts NOT on a QB. Marrone knew it would be a constant struggle. Brandon IS in on football decisions. Draft day when they showed the Bills war room after the Watkins draft, you saw 2 men celebrating. Whaley, Brandon. Brandon drafted Aaron Maybin. Enough said. |

Agreed. It all seemed to start by that LaCanfora article about "Saint Doug". |

If Marrone wants to make the personnel decisions, then he should be a GM, not a coach. They used a 1st rounder on a QB the previous year, so they weren't going to draft another one this past draft in the 1st round, and even if they had a 1st rounder this year, what QB would even be worth it at this point?

Marrone can go coach his 4-12 team if he thinks the grass is greener.
He's not Don Shula. |

The Buffalo Sports scene surely has had a.wild ride under Pegula's reign. With Moron and Patty episodes, it is truly embarrassing. I do hope he finds a well respected football guy to oversee the operations. Brandon needs to be disengaged from football decisions period...business side fine. They need to retain the DC, hire a major HC and get an innovative OC.
Then get some freakin' QB who has a clue AND get two Guards who can play the run and pass.
That is a lot of holes to fill in one off season. I would bet on it all happening. |

Not that he hasn't been, but Jameis Winston needs to have a big game today for the sake of his draft stock. With all the sideshow crap that surrounds him, he just needs to show that he can play big when it matters. |
