Randall Ritchey: Chatting With Chesterfield Native, Jeff Lovecchio Jeff Lovecchio, a native of Chesterfield, Missouri, is currently playing hockey in Europe. He was kind enough to chat with me to talk about playing hockey over seas, and what it was like playing with current Blues forward, Paul Stastny.

I found it an interesting read. Not really a perspective you hear a lot as far as hockey players. If we're averaging a blog every other day like we have been the last month, I don't mind a change of pace every now and then, hear something about hockey outside the Blues and the NHL. Course, if this had been after no blogs for 2 weeks I'd probably be with everyone else getting out the pitchforks... lol.

I think I would prefer to see Elliott in net tonight. Oh well, I'm sure he'll be in tomorrow. Good for Marty on earning himself another start. Hopefully this time tomorrow he is $20,000.00 richer.

He will be exposed as a player that doesn't think the game fast enough...

From an offensive standpoint, he had tremendous vision, often exposing that his line mates didn't recognize the offensive opportunities that were there or that they didn't think the offensive game fast enough. From a complete game standpoint, that's another story. He definitely became more "selfish" as time wore on with the Blue Note but part of that may have been not having the right line mates.

Regardless, I expect his point totals to increase in Pitt.

lol. I haven't heard that name in a thousand years.

We get to see what Perron is really made of now. Because right I cannot help but imagine what it would be like with him in the top nine and getting some pp time.

Eggs the dude has great vision, a tremendous shot, great one on one skills and can make great passes. He played an awful lot with guys who were not always creative or had not yet learned to think the game. He played as a winger a lot with Berglund.

The dude is money. He did good on a crappy Oilers team.

I thought it was a nice interview. Interesting topics. Be a lot nicer to say analyse the team using advanced stats through groups of games and compare them to the league and ponder what ills this team.

He also had 5 goals and -17 in a half season on a crappy Oilers team.

You know more about hockey than I do. I just never saw him mesh with what others were doing on the ice consistently. Occasionally, I saw him make great individual efforts. More often than not, I saw him cycle the puck up the half boards and try to turn back down to the corner on his own stick, only to get stuck in a puck battle.

I hope that playing with some of the best players in the world will help him realize his potential. I'm just not convinced that he's got the decision making to be successful.

is it just me or do i see former blues getting traded consistently for more return than what army was able to get for them?

Perron for Paajarvi and a late pick
Bishop for a 4th
the list keeps going but its like army does not value his assets enough

Perron was moved for cap reasons. GMs understand that. He was put in the position of moving both of them because of cap and playing time...

i get that Perron was a cap dump, but we did not get value for him. Paajarvi might as well not even be on the team the way he has been used. Bishop for a 4th? Leopold for nothing basically, and so on. the list gets stronger, or weaker depending how you view it…….

We overpaid big time for the Miller fiasco. i was on board with that trade, i thought it would help us. I guess being one of the top regular season teams has a disadvantage. Teams know what you want and make you overpay.
