It's almost comical how he's outplayed AMac in every conceivable fashion, including puck-moving, while on a 1-year value deal.

So is Vinny being traded or is the coach going to be fired? What's going on with the Flyers? I haven't really followed them but thought they'd be in the mix for the wildcard. Didn't think they were a legit playoff team though still. - riceroni
Vinny being traded? hmm, don't see any takers
Coach fired... check back in July
What's going on with the Flyers? two all world forwards and a group of 4/5/6 defenseman playing more minutes then they should = top 7 pick in the draft
Playoffs? hahaha |

I personally would like to see Nick Shultz sit. There has been games where he probably should have but Berube refuses to pull that trigger with some guys. For me it isn't a matter of disliking him, I just think he's as deserving for a seat and I'd like to see our three defense pairs set up the way they were ment to now that there is no excuse of rust. - SuperSchennBros
He's been OK but I don't really love him and Coburn getting big minutes.
As a bottom pairing guy on a cheap deal he has been all one could ask for, but playing top four and on the ice with G and Jake, I don't like. |

edit: Is delicate cycle what you call it when Vinny and Umberger go in on the forecheck? - BiggE
Lecavalier has been really good since his return and yet people still won't budge on giving him credit. |

They haven't been very good and their roster makeup is pretty terrible.
They need to jettison one or more of their "defensive defensemen".
They need to find something for Vinny Lecavalier to do. He doesn't fit here.
I would also submit that their younger forwards, like Brayden Schenn and Sean Couturier have probably come along more slowly than the franchise originally envisioned.
The current roster needs to hold down the fort (and possibly sit out a postseason or two) while Ron Hextall adds to the organizational depth of this franchise. Years and years of thinking the team was "on the doorstep" of winning the Cup led to trading away of young players and draft picks and general neglect at the developmental levels of the franchise.
The reality is, if it wasn't for Claude Giroux and Jake Voracek, we'd all be debating if the Flyers should pick MacDavid or Eichel. |

Well said. I think I more so would like to get Michael Del Zotto and Luke Schenn going. I'm all scratching the two when deserved but when they're both playing well I think it's almost criminal to swop one for the other or make one sit for large stretches of games. |

He's definitely played better, bumped up his status to maybe nearly possibly trade-able. |

I'd like to get Vinny if possible. I think he'd add a good veteran voice to the Sens dressing room but think he can be had at a bargain. I'd only want him at 50% cap hit anyway and would trade you a depth player like Smith or preferably Greening from our roster and would add a D man to the deal like Gryba or Boro that the Flyers could bury in the minors. Sens can't afford to do that. We are cheap!

Well that's good, because Vinny's deal was front-loaded so his real salary moving forward is relatively low. Always though Ottawa was the only viable trade destination for him. We'll happily take Greening AND Gryba, but sorry, not keeping any salary.
