Seems as much credit and praise we give Ennis. Stafford has been right there on the score sheet .
Who knew ? |

It's similar to what I said about Myers in the last blog, though. If you're the best of a really bad bunch, it doesn't say too much about how good you really are (or aren't). When the bar is only six inches off the ground, it's not much of a feat. |

That is it! We need to run Ennis out of town to. Weber and Kaleta will lead us to the promised land!

People want him to light it up and he isn't going to do that. He should have a few more goals but he is a 45-55pt player, probably a 50-60pt player on a team with better forwards |

Not what I'm saying at all, but if none of the three are on this roster, I'm not going to lose much sleep. Not that I actively want to get rid of Ennis, but I just don't think he'll have as much of an impact when this team is good as a lot of others do. |

I said it last year before Nolan took over that he was playing an all around better game, he started doing the little things right more and more. Under Nolan he is doing the right thing more often than not. He is still prone to his bonehead "lazy" play at times but he is much better than he was under Ruff's last year in that department. |

I think Ennis will be an effective 2nd line winger when we are for real . Just like Myer's will be an effective top pairing defense man . But others want it all and want it now. It just does not work like that.

There is something to be said, though, for the fact that both Ennis and Stafford were part of the group this team gave the reins too, and both came up very short. It's a big reason why the team has had to rebuild the way it has. |

I have seen real improvement in Stafford's drive and desire under Nolan. But if he gets us a good return near the trade deadline. I will drive him to the airport myself.

That's more on management then the players themselves though. Management (Darcy) wanted them to fill the roles of players like Drury and Briere. Expecting the players to grow out of their current roles and move into being the leaders is not a recipe for success. Expecting Drew Stafford to produce the same as Danny Briere is the issue, not the player himself. |

Staff, like Foligno, needs to take the damn puck to the net and create scoring chances.
If not, they're useless on this team. If they had better forwards to play with they'd put up better #'s but right now all they can do is take it to the net or use their size to create space for their linemates. Right now they don't do either. |

C'mon . He was not part of the leadership group. Ennis is just starting to come in to his own. What other NHL franchise expects a player to lead them to the promised land in their early 20's . Where you ready to run the firm you were at in your early 20's?

Hall to New York for Dubinsky?

Classic - you thought Dubinsky still played for the Rangers and tried to cover it up by saying it could be a 3 way trade........

thing is If we do end up with some superstars on the team . we will still need compliment players like Staff and Ennis. There is NO WAY that we end up with a team full of Crosbys. |
