If it can be helped, I'd desperate hang on to the following names.
Claude Giroux, Jake Voracek, Steve Mason, Wayne Simmonds, Luke Schenn, Brayden Schenn, Sean Couturier, Matt Read and Scott Laughton.
These are all young NHL players for the moment who fill a need, regardless if we like these players or not. Still on the fence when it comes to Michael Del Zotto who also fills a need. I'm not saying all these names have to stay but only move certain guys if you can seriously upgrade. |

There are a ton of guys who can't be traded because of their contracts. VLC, Umberger, MacDonald all going nowhere.
Coburn's value has to be at an all time low. He was once worth a first round pick, now I don't think you can get a first rounder for him. Outside of that, who do you want to trade? - PLindbergh31
Perron was worth a 1st, Coburn should still snag one...Perron was playing badly in Edmonton |

I blamed Laviolette because I felt he had a playoff caliber roster to start last season and refused to adapt to better utilize his players. I also didn't like how he handled many of the youngsters-bouncing Schenn all over, pigeon-holing Couturier, Bobrovsky-and didn't see that getting better.
I blame Berube because I disagree with many of his line up decisions and player usage habits. I don't blame him for their record, because I fully expected this team to miss the playoffs. - Jsaquella
its no secret lavy wears on his players and they ultimately tune him out, some ppl are too stubborn to accept that reality. |

Sadly, Coburn is going to be worth something like.. Chicago, Nashville, or L.A.'s 1st, and not Edmonton's 1st. |

I wasn't one of them. They owed Laviolette a trade, and they owe Berube one, too
The problem is the NHL continues to change. That was how it always used to be.
But Eakins and DeBoer got the shiv without getting any help from the GM first - AllInForFlyers
They don't need to get rid of Chief asap b/c the next guy could win a few more games... they need to axe him b/c so many of his decisions are detrimental to development. |

In theory you would think that is the case, but it's probably not true. Look at the returns Douglas Murray, and Pavel Kubina netted. Do you think the Flyers can get anything close to those packages for Nik Grossmann, who is a better player than either of those guys? |

I hear you guys: No trade.
This is what we have, then -- Murray or someone might help some, but I do think this roster needs more surgery than a coach can handle |

Might be leight but Jagr oldest player to score a hattrick in the NHL beating out Gordie's last hattie as a 41st year old. |

The problem is if you aren't willing to move some of the supplementary players you listed above you aren't getting much more then mid - late draft picks for anyone else. |

Honestly I'll be pleasantly surprised if Coburn pulls a 1st rounder. A year ago and before definitely, but after this season, compounded by the mess Philadelphia D corps is in, I don't see it. |

I think he can. GM's recognize that he's much better than he's shown, when used right. |
