What's to lose at this point? 9 points out, no games in hand on the 5 or 6 teams between them and the playoff spot they covet. Hell in most cases the teams between them and a playoff spot have games in hand on them.

In that case I agree. Rinaldo will play his 4-6 minutes, run around, etc...by the end of the game Vinny will probably be centering Schenn & Simmonds.

The Canes first goal is a perfect example, Streit makes a nice spin to get some room, instead of passing it right away or throwing it on net, he holds the puck and winds up below the goal line in no man's land. Mental error there.

Yeah, Streit did too much there... but the play probably would have died if he passed off to Grossmann, or VDV there, too. Damned if you do, damned if you don't... they were pretty desperate to manufacture some momentum.

And man, if we want to talk about instances that erode trust between teammates, not a single F rotated back to cover the point for him. Grossmann knew that poop was coming too, because he bailed and retreated to his own blueline the second Streit spun.
