If you're gonna gloat about how wrong people were about Versteeg last summer, you should also recognize those of us who correctly stated often, last spring and summer, that we should wait and see how he played after his knee was completely rehabbed and he had a chance to play healthy.
Also, Kuc is reporting that "Nordstrom is expected to be in the line-up in place of...Carcillo". - StLBravesFan
count me one of those
I don't remember anybody posting he would be almost a pt/gme output... |

Don't like that , Carcillo should sit and Nordstrom go back on the 4th with Smith and Kruger .TT between Bickel and Shaw , lot of protection and both can shoot the puck , - oldduffman

Can anybody tell me how TT played during the first 4 games of the season and a couple of exhibition games? It's been so long ago that I can' remember. I would think 3 months in Rockford and playing in a smaller rink has made his game at least 25 % better. I am sure it was Stan's idea to bring him up. If he doesn't stick (highly likely) than Stan will probably bring him up again in a couple of months. The second time around he needs to stick with the Hawks or he might be involved in a trade . Stan is not going to look good if he trades him. IMO, a top 6 prospect needs to make the big club after a year or he will be another 3rd or 4 th line player (which we have plenty in our system). Furthermore, TT,s salary is over a million ..Stan might be forced to trade him because our cap problems.

what the hell...I am never right...BUT I guarantee you TT is not going to be traded not with a salary cap dump looming next year...he is slotted to replace Sharp when his 6 mil per is moved. |

His salary is $894,000, locked up for two more years after this one. He won't be traded unless it's as part of a very good deal for the Hawks.
They may have brought him up (my speculation only) to give him a couple of games in the show to show the Hawks (and, more important) Teraveinan what he still needs to work on.
Kings now within 2 of Preds 5-3. |

I agree with you Teuvo would be a good replacement for Sharp. However, what happens if TT is not ready? |

well, the kruger smith line is kind of checking line. Usually out there against the opponents top line if Toews line isn't. |

true...I am giving you the Hwk talk with respect to lines....StanBow and Q always dismiss traditional line designations and function... |

Bummer for Steeger - having a great year...3rd on the team in points...Q said about a month/surgery doubtful. Thankfully its not lower body he's been through enough with that recently.
So TT gets a look now and we'll see how he does.
Really like Nordstrom's game - in the limited time he's been up he's what third in the team in hits...also like that line with Kruger and Smith.
You need a Carcillo when you play a team like the Blues - it's the nature of the beast sadly. To his credit he's played with more purpose this season and not taken as many bad penalties. Personally I'd rather have more Brouwer, Ladd type players - physical players that are good with the puck... - DK002
And when Roussell raises his inevitable hell tomorrow night? That's why you need A Carcillo, especially considering the composition of this team.
But you're right. Nordstrom has done very well when paired with Smith and Kruger on the fourth line. Put TT on the second line and let's see how he does with Kane and Richards, even if he plays the wing. |

big rebound as the kings fall asleep on the back check and its 6-3...no big comeback tonight...
This pred team is gonna cause alot of problems in the playoff...they can score and they have a world class goalie to bale them out...don't see how the hawks avoid them in round 1 or 2.... |

They said they don't number their lines, but I don't think they've ever said anything about labeling them. It's very very clear from Q's deployment and usage of players for years that he prefers to have a checking/shutdown line. It's actually kind of silly to think otherwise tbh. |

Why would you need Carcillo for Roussell? Shaw handled him fine and is a better skilled player to boot than Carcillo. |

Agreed on the Preds. They're for real. And im still not sure what to make of LA and all these goals/shots/chances they're giving up. Without Quick they're a below .500 team. Not sure if they can just "flip a switch" come playoff time and sure up their poor defensive play.... |

That was a great bout, no doubt. And you could also argue Shaw hasn't been the same since. |

The Kings are less than impressive this year and mainly because their defence isn't anywhere near as good. Willie Mitchell is gone; Voynov is a huge loss which forces Doughty to log 30 minutes a night. The rest of the group skate like a very tired Steve Montador. But in a playoff series the Kings can still beat anybody in the Pacific.
1st place is very important in the Central - let the Preds and Blues blow each other up in the first round. |

Carcillo is a decent player, but seems to be a touch out of sync lately and not effective or a factor lately. Maybe nursing an injury or tired.
I do hate that Roussel. |
