When Comeau and Hornqvist are back, I want to see:
Kunitz - Crosby - Perron
Comeau - Malkin - Hornqvist
Downie - Sutter - Bennett
Spaling - Goc - Rust
- rival22
If perron prefers left wing and Hornqvist has been so much better with sid then why are people in such a hurry to not do the obvious and make these the lines.
Perron - Crosby - Hornqvist
Kunitz - Malkin - Comeau
Bennet - Sutter - Downie
Spalling - Goc - Rust
It just seems like the obvious move to myself. But going into tonight who knows, especially since Comeau is still out of the lineup I could see MJ putting him on right wing but I'd really just prefer we see him were he likes to play and hes done most of his body of work at. While we still have comeau out just move downie up to geno's wing and rust to the third. The pessimist in me says spalling will continue to find himself higher in the lineup than he should be until everyone is fully healthy, but im not saying hes been bad there's just no upside. |

It wouldn't take himthat long to get up to speed though. It's not like an injury where he has to take it easy, he could work out hard, so stamina/strength would be there, it would just take some game action to get his timing and hockey legs back. - rival22
Exactly. And they don't need 20 minutes a night from him. Even in a 4th line role and as a penalty killer, he'd be an asset. Things worked out pretty well the last time he was a 4th liner in the playoffs. |

Perron to play his natural left wing with Sid and Downie. Looks like the right move, definitely one I agree with for now. |

I'm actually a fan of keeping the Kunitz-Sutter-Bennett line together... I think that's a really strong third line... And I do like the idea of keeping Downie with Sid.. I saw Downie first hand put up a bunch of points flanking Stammer opposite of Marty down here and Tampa... And he can definitely play on a 1st line and contribute... I liked the idea of...
Perron-Sid-Downie
Comeau-Geno-Horny
Kunitz-Sutter-Bennett
The 4th line on the other hand is still terrible... Which I think could hurt us in the playoffs unless one more move is made or duper makes a miraculous comeback... Although I love seeing Farnham skate around trying to destroy anything in his path... It's fun hahah

That's the one.
And I don't think the 4th line is bad. Spaling/Goc/Adams is fine. They can keep the puck down in the other end just fine. The 4th line has actually been doing that all year. I could care less about shot differential stats that "hint" at possession, with my eyes it's noticeable that the 4th line isn't getting stuck in the D zone like they were last year. And there's been many times when they've held the puck for a full minute, cycling and turtling against the boards, without a shot to help their Fenwick, but still doing their jobs. |

Because this is HockeyBuzz, check all logic and reasoning at the door.
Kinda like how everyone assumes Adams just attacked Malkin. Maybe Malkin was being a dbag? Everyone here assumes that every NHL player will be happy to take a cut to play in the glorious city of Pittsburgh.

To be fair, no one is assuming. Adams got hit in the mouth during a drill then went after Malkin.

The beginning of the video is cut, you just see the scrum. |

Yes, but everyone in attendance said the same thing. Adams got cut and then started to go after Malkin. It doesn't matter. |

We only assumed Ehrhoff would take a bit less, due to the buyout... and that lesser amount covering at most part of the buyout cash.
I think most good teams would assume and hope the same in his regard. |

Not a popular movie at all, only saw it once, but sid and downie looked like that french guy and the goon from Goon. For those who were lucky enough to not see it, maybe having a protector will let sid focus on scoring like he has. Let downie deal with any harassment |

And this is why you are a Ducks fan. Only thing you got close to right was the 4th line, except the wingers are flipflopped. |

I'm not just talking Ehroff. Throw a name out there and everyone says "just sign him for X He would love to play with Sid" Resign this guy or that guy, go sign him, he will waive his NTC to be here"

Hornquest played his best hockey with 87. With 71 he has looked lost, yet every line combo on this board has PH with Malkin. |

I think waving NTC isn't an absurd reasoning... depends on the team they were on and if they would get top 2 line minutes. Lots of players would want to go to a guaranteed playoff contender. But signing for less.... unless its BARELY any less, nope, completely stupid to assume such.
Ehrhoff's buyout is a special case, and I still believe it reasonable to think he will sign for less than his full value somewhere for better Cup Chances. |

Horny works better with Crosby, we have already learned that. Comeau is on the wrong side, a confliction WITH Hornquist.
Kunitz to the 3rd is just silly, hes never once been below the 2nd line while here.
Spaling and Adams are on the wrong sides.
Downie over Horny, Kunitz, while not the worst thing, will never happen with the whole team healthy because of how stupid the trickle down effect becomes.
Every line has a glaring mistake. |
|
|
|
Sid and Hornqvist hve been dominant together while malkin and Hornqvist have lnt showed nearly the same chemistry. I'd stick horn and sid together and then perron and malkin together. Kunitz could go to either line depending who needs he meshes with better |

Guess you're just used to being top heavy. Your argument for kunitz to not be on the 3rd line is because he was never there before? That makes sense...
Comeau can play the left |

So.... you want to promote a 3rd line player, who has been playing GREAT with Sutter and Bennett, to his opposite side wing, just to move down our 1st line winger for a bit more balance.
Yeah, you must be a God of Hockey knowledge. Why not just give Crosby Adams for better balance. |

Weird crosby hasn't done much recently but as soon as downie is on his line he gets 4pts... Downie has proven he can play with top guys. |

Two big issues with your statement.
First, Downie wasn't on his line, that was during line cycling in the middle of shifts.
Second, a much less stupid way to credit that, is that the team got back a much needed player while half of the roster has been injured.
You can't be dominant with half the team out, its stupid to think otherwise, and you are just embarrassing yourself here. |
