Boychuk was a stabilizer out there and was one of the few mobile d-men they had. They do need a bit of an overhaul... the tough part of it though is who goes(too many NTC's given out to move an impact for impact player trade) and Julien doesn't have any patience with young players so would young guys like Spooner, Khoklachev, etc actually get a chance to make a contribution up front? Jordan Caron had a great game vs. Detroit early in the week hitting and winning battles in the corners and he has sat the last 2 (3 after today?) losses. Doesn't make sense, but what we've seen this year is NOT "Bruins Hockey".

Caron did make the fourth line better during that game.....but the team looked good in general.

I have ZERO faith in CJ........

What is the point of Paile, Cambell, Kelly, .........we can't score and they seem to be on the ice for many of the goals recently too.

So.........????........for seniority.......????.......great D.....???.

Joe Morrow.......another player that looked great when he was up here........

And your right about Chara......I've been saying it for awhile......his Kryptonite is speed to the outside.....he can not turn his hips and get up to speed fast enough.

Boychuck was going to need to be traded my only problem is that the return was GARBAGE.......he should have held him and traded him in a package to Winnipeg for Kane or to Edmonton for Eberle, Perron or a blockbuster for Hall.

Krejic would have gotten $8 plus on the open market.......he IS a top line center.......OUR PROBLEM is our lack if skill and consistency on our top six wings.......Krejic has led the NHL in scoring during the playoffs twice in four years........

- JIwasinskiJr

Agreed about the return for Johnny B... made no sense to trade him at the beginning of the year after Reilly and Krug were already signed. if they had've held him, perhaps there's a chance they could've packaged him in a deal for Eberle?
For sure Krecji would've gotten that on the open market and he produced in the cup run year- but so did Chris Kelly and you just CANNOT pay $3.5 mill for a guy like him in the salary cap era... guys like Spooner of Khoko can do what he does and then maybe you get a solid winger who is consistent in his scoring with the savings. I just don't think with the contracts and NTC's the team currently had that they should've given him a $2m raise and a NTC. The money could've been used to improve the team elsewhere and retained Boychuk.

You just named 3 veterans who are in the lineup bc they were part of the 2011 cup winning team and not because of their contributions the past 2 years... all 3 should be elsewhere and replaced by younger, cheaper guys with some DRIVE to their game.

You saw what happens when Solderberg is relied upon as a top 2 center........he feast on third and fourth lines but I do not think he is a top liner and not a second liner on a Cup run team.

The NMC are an issue with Chia pet.......but Chara(at the time), Bergy, And I'd say Krejic would deserve them in most cases.......

It's the other players he hands them to which is silly.

And I said it during the off season and I'll say it again......

Boychuck is going to get $6 plus a year on the open market and for 4-5 years.

Matt Niskenan got 7 years at $5.75

Brooks Orkip got 5 years at $5.5

I've always thought Johnny was a boarder line top pair D man.

It reminds me of when we signed Chara and Ottawa decided to sign Wade Redden instead......

It was going to either be Johnny Rocket OR Chara.......

Hinge sight is 20-20.

I'll get lynched for saying this I'm sure... but Johnny is 7 years younger and incredibly mobile... would have bought out Z and given Johnny the money. Z led us to the cup in 2011, is a tremendous leader in the room and is a fitness fanatic- but it doesn't change the fact that he's worn down and is a fraction of himself from 3 years ago (on the ice). Love his size and he looks imposing in the black and gold... but what's he sense in owning a great looking corvette if it doesn't have an engine in it and just sits up on blocks?

You're right, Soderberg is not a second liner on a strong team... and Eriksson is overpaid at $4.5 as a third line winger. Do you think Eriksson would be effective on a line with Bergy and Marchy?

In my opinion the best that Bergy has looked was when Seguin was playing on his right wing.........that line was AS DOMINANT as any line in hockey AND they were a shut down line TOO!

They would shut down Crosby AND then score.......

Ericksson is TOO similar to Bergy......he is a possession machine with an alright scoring touch........

What I'm getting at is that a player like Pasternak would be ideal on Bergy's wing.......someone that's main purpose is to be creative with the puck and then burry it.

Each of our top three lines needs a winger upgrade.......that's why I think we should look to next year.......

We need to much and that's ON TOP OF a ligit top line RW.

Shades of 2007-2008, lost a ton of one goal games & shoot outs!!

This line up is chock full role players and passers!

Chia will learn many new skills during/after this season.

As for Edwards, NESN is partially own by the Jacobs, easy math there!!

Bruins need a nice soapy enema, a good deep flushing!!!

-yeah, you're right... Eriksson & Bergy are probably too similar. I'm not going to beat a dead horse and lament losing Seguin, but I don't think he'd be doing in Boston what he is doing in Dallas... he needed to be at the center position to reach the level he's playing at and with #37 and #49 there it wasn't going happen. I hope Pastrak can provide a spark and Chiarelli doesn't do something stupid like trade a kid or draft picks for a nothing like Chris Stewart. They need so much more than one or two tweaks and they can't get what they need at this time of year. hopefully they cut some of the fat and unload Paille, Campbell and Kelly for whatever they can get and make the serious moves in the offseason. They need an impact #1 RW and a big tough 2 way D and an influx of speed and youthful energy up front on the bottom6

This team sucks, nobody cares whether or not they make the playoffs and it is blantantly apparent on the ice. Was the Boydchuk a bad move? Ya probably but the team hasn't stopped pouting about it.

This team is a joke, no fire, zero passion, Rask is the only one who gives a ish and him getting blamed for any of this is BS. Guy kept them in it today and yesterday.

I'd like to see PC make a move but I don't think it's happening. Too much money, no trade clauses for guys they consider part of their core. I just don't see it with this team. They just don't have it or don't care. Think they can play 20 minutes of decent hockey and beat top notch opponents.

I think Rask is FAR from the problem with this team........

Smith missing WIDE OPEN NETS from beautiful plays by Krejic is what I think sums this team up..........no finish........not Swedish.......but finish!

Thanks for joining the conversation........

And instead of giving any observable points....opinions.....or disagreements about what may be wrong with your favorite Professional Hockey team........

You actually whine about people posting about potential issues plaguing the team.......

Why do you care about what FANS that have there OWN opinions, think is wrong with the team?

I guess you enjoy this sad, boring, bunch............

So start you own site.......

Keep drinking the Chiarelli/Julien Kool-Aid Moncton boy, repeat after me ... "We played well enough to win, we have LOTS of cap flexibility, everything will be fine, the effort is there even though we went 16 minutes in a period without a shot".

Our dialogue has nothing to do with hating the Bruins, they're our favourite team... this debate is about observing what may be wrong and what may improve the team.. it's called passion- something the club has unfortunately lacked all year.
