They have lots of forwards to move. Hall is the one you build around.

I agree, they'd be nuts to trade Hall. But they have to be getting desperate, and he will get them the best return. Teams could demand him. Its not like young good defensemen are traded all that often...

I've hardly seen Marner play, so I don't really have an informed opinion on him. But he could jump up there. U aren't the only one I've heard suggest that.

I think a lot of factors would go in to who we take at 3...
Did we trade Myers for Hall?
How did Grigorenko progress through the rest of the year?
Marner is also a smaller guy (not tiny), and Murray seems to want to be bigger in general

So, its kind of a crapshoot right now as to what we'd do
Hopefully we pick 1 or 2 & don't have to worry about it

Edmonton does not comprehend desperate . The owner and management just figure it means another #1 pick. They figure it has to work out eventually. It is the rest of us that think they should be desperate.

Only issue is if/when Stewart gets moved it will be 4 teams in 5 years.

His value (IMO of course) is less than that of Perron/Stafford.

Don't underestimate the value of the extras year on Perrons contract. He's more than just a rental. Staff and Stew will only get 2d rounders imo

I saw this as well. Some of the comments in that thread were spot on as they pointed out the differences between Perron and the others. No chance we get a first, and in the case of Stewart a second might also be questionable. In a dream scenario maybe we package Staff and a second for a first.

No way we get more than a 2nd for Stewart or Stafford.
