He might be faster then Schenn, but I think Schenn was a lot more developed and a better hockey player at this time of his career.

Morin will get a lot better....Schenn will not.

I don't remember Schenn getting beat to the outside like that during the WJC or Super Series. Just sayin'.

Schenn played his best hockey as an 18 yr old...he just seemed to peek at 19....not saying Morin doesn't need work....still pretty raw.

Ill take your word that LSchenn never made a mistake till he got to the NHL. But when he did get there his mediocre skating was exposed regularly.

I still don't think it's the skating... he just got away with not having any hockey sense against junior-aged players because he was so damned strong. Once that size-advantage evaporated, everything else got exposed.

Luke Schenn was good early on within his career in the NHL. Never sniffed the minor league. His play has tailed off.

Well, we've got that going for us.

I'm hopeful and still think Morin could be a key part of our future D corps. He has freakish size but needs to grow into his body and refine his game. Let's see how he does in the AHL next year.

I think Morin has more hockey sense than Schenn. He makes a lot of subtle plays that help the team exit the zone. Luke Schenn had no hockey sense at 19. He still doesn't have much.

There's no need to call him a bust, but he's got a lot of work to do. He's got a lot of tools, he just needs to develop them.

That's the hope... it's just so hard to get a read on most of these oversized teens.

For sure....I think his game will translate really well to the NHL....he's young...still growing ...when he puts it all together he COULD be really good....lots of work ahead of him...but I see improvement from last year for sure.

Yeah. I actually thought Morin played well on the PK. It's difficult to judge a guy who gets very little ES time.

I never thought he'd be a dynamic player anyway. Hopefully, he can be the guy who takes the tough zone starts and competition and neutralizes them.

He just seems slow to react to the NHL pace....I like him as a 5th or 6th guy still...just don't think there's anything more there...

If he had been cut by team Canada then I would have been concerned....but there d was stacked...half a year left in JR. Then it's time for some AHL seasoning....sky's the limit with his skill set ...where he ends up ? Who knows.

Gotta be patient...not necessarily keep him away from the NHL for years..I mean, if he's good enough to help the team and appears comfortable, whenever that is, great, but I'm saying don't put too much on his shoulders (right away) in terms of expectations and responsibility, until it's apparent he's ready to handle it.

I can envision a scenario where in a year or two when he's having his early struggles as a pro, the fans start to turn on him and call him a bust and the media jumps in and becomes a thing that can affect the player and/or his perception in the org...I don't want to see that happen. The Flyers haven't often developed their own D men in house, so fans may not be prepared to be as patient as they may need to be. We'll see.

Yeah I did like his PK game...very rangy. Saw him make some good plays at ES too...also some not so good ones. No big.
