I don't see a couple of 20-30 goal guys and a 2nd pairing D, all who are very young, as spare parts. The trade would improve the team by quite a bit I think...

I also don't see Larkin/Mantha as impact players - they may be, but are unproven. That would be a big risk imo...

- mventres

No it would not . The numbers they are achieving are on a Detroit team with Talent all around them . They won't do that here. What you fail to realize is he is not on the trade block! The only thing that gets him is a massive overpayment which includes a game changer. Nice players but none are game changers. We do not have to trade him. Why would we if the deal does not blow our GM's socks off.

God, he's horrible. I can't listen.

Took a break and listened for the first time in months and left with the thought Kaleta and McCormick could be MVP's.

Sadly i think kaleta would be just as effective playing without a stick

And he's a guy I thought had 10-12 goal potential a few years ago.

Deslauriers easily replaces him going forward.

Mantha and Larkin may turn out to be good, but they are still unproven. BUF can draft good players this year of about equal skill, and also get 3 solid contributors for the 2nd line and 2nd pairing D. I don't see that 1 Mantha/Larkin would improve the team as much as Jurco+Tatar+Dekeyser+1st rounder would. Also, BUF can package say Stewart and picks for a guy like E Kane, who could fit well on the 1st line.

I get what you're saying and it makes sense...the sabres really don't need to move myers at all, that's why murray can shoot for the moon..

as for your second trade with wpg, would take that every time, twice on sunday

I don't want to trade Myers, but this trade proposal isn't bad, imo.
- grand-magus

I dont think there is any chance that the wings part with that many assets for Myers...as much as he has franchise defenseman written on him he also has mediocre defenseman potential.

Michael question to you here - do you think Myers is worth a package of Mantha or Larkin ++ or just that that is what the sabres want as they want someone to overpay.

Cuz i can understand that point of view seeing as how they dont have to move him but at this point in time i dont see how anyone can value Myers at that kind of return based on his play to date. Just curious cuz this has clearly been a hot topic on many blogs.

Why do fans from other teams do no understand the concept that he is not on the trade block? We are not looking for what they think is a fair deal. We want a massive overpayment. It is not unreasonable to ask for. For a right handed 6 foot 8 great skating defense man , signed long term with a reasonable cap hit and Majority of his deal already paid off.

Here is the concept that no one can seem to understand. He is not on the Trade block! If you want him it is going top cost more than what you perceive his fair value to be.

They would in a few years when it matters though. Myers numbers look awful to the naked eye considering the offensive talent he has.

Either way.....Just keep him. We need him. Ristolainen and Zadorov are not sure fire top 2 defensemen like the local media believes

No matter how many are thrown in? If all those guys were thrown in I think Buffalo would be very interested. For a guy that for some reason can't get out of the trade rumors (probably because his NTC kicks in sooner than later), everyone thinks he's worth a King's Ransom (not saying he's not). I've never been a big fan of Myers, but I understand the value and potential and have no clue why Buffalo would trade a guy that will be hitting his prime right when this rebuild would start to pay major dividends.

Michael Pachla: On the Tyler Myers to Detroit for Tomas Tatar-plus speculation
Detroit FREEP's St. James knows what the Sabres have in Myers, should know that those aren't the names Murray would be interested in.

- Michael Pachla

I dont think Meyers is an incredible player (yet) but I dont understand trading him? Admittadley thats an opinion of someone who doesnt watch him all of the time. We all know d men take longer to develop. His potential alone is enough reason to keep him along with him being signed long term. Defensemen are a commodity in today's NHL. You guys may be looking for the same kind of player Meyers is when you start competing. Might not be so easy to find when that happens?

Who says I didn't? You?
I have nothing to prove to anyone my friend. You either except what I say, or you don't. As I stated early on, I don't have to say anything, I'm just giving some insight is all.

And as for questioning my net worth as "an insider" as many call it. The proof is in the pudding, which has been tasted to a very small extent.

- TWGsabres

Saying that Stafford might get traded does not make you an insider. He's a UFA, the winger market shrunk with the Perron trade, and it's getting closer to the trade deadline. It's painfully obvious he's on the block.

You are not in the marketing department, otherwise you would be working on a much bigger project right now.

Why I'm even bothering with this is beyond me.

Why isn't Nolan playing the wonder kids together now. They are much better together than they are apart . The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

I think everyone understands that concept - you have spouted it on every thread on this site. I specifically asked the blogger what his perceived value is of Myers versus the value that the Sabres ownership wants in order to trade him.
