There's this thing called playing on the wing. Ask Ennis about it. - Herzeleid
Very true, on the other side, you can only have so much young talented forwards in your top 6. You need to surround them with quality vets not washed up ones. I thought we all learn from Edmonton's failure. |

As much as I have said Grigorenko should be playing wing, I'm not so sure anymore. - dadeadhead
Both him and Girgs could end up on the wing depending on how the draft goes. |

Only concern Murray should have with Armia is he is prone to injuries already. Other than that all he has done is impress, and Murray has said so himself - sbroads24
But TWG said the brass is not impressed with his progress.... |

Agreed but it's not like he's gonna come out and say he sucks either.
At the end of the day it wouldn't surprise me if both aren't here. - dadeadhead
Both would surprise me, one of them I could definitely see.

Girgensons playing the wing would create an opening. - kingcong39
Reinhart IMO would be moved to wing if they land McEichel. |

If we get McEichel Grigorenko might as well pack his bags. |

Saying that is just because of Rinne is false. They have also jumped about 10 spots offensively over the last year as well. They are finally a well rounded team with the leagues best blue line - sbroads24
The point was that a good defense makes goalie. Didn't happen with Carter Hutton. The Hawks are not as dominant when Raanta is in instead of Crawford and the Hawks are a near flawless team. My conclusion is that you also need a great goalie to win championships. |

I don't see Girgensons going back to the wing.
The draft goes as planned, they roll 4 lines with Girgensons playing 3rd line center or Reinhart plays one of the wings on the top line and Girgensons stays on the 2nd line.
Right now it's just the waiting game but I don't see Grigorenko here past next season. |

You should read better. I said Enroth couldn't carry the load of a 82 games schedule. It doesn't neglect the fact that he can have some good stretch over the par of a season.
And for your comment "defense make goalies", wow. Concrete example: Nashville Predators. With the same D core they missed the playoffs last year without Rinne. With Rinne healthy they are battling for the top spot in the league. Might want this one back eh? - Habsody
what would i take back? Neal, Ribeiro, and a flip??? I think that might have a lot to do with it. But hey... lets ignore that BIG difference |

I honestly can't see that. He has Patrice Bergeron written all over him
Taking big face-offs, smart defensively, great passer. He could end up a Selke nominee someday

You need your goaltender to get hot come playoff time no matter who it is. That does not equate to a great goalie. |

Ott isn't a center yet took the vast majority of faceoffs when he was on the ice.
Not comparing the two as Reinhart has a much much higher ceiling than Ott. |

So you're saying that a hot Martin Jones or a hot Ben Scrivens would have help the Kings win the cup like Quick did? Sorry, i have a real tough time buying that. |

That would make it that we got a 2014 2nd, 2015 1st, 2nd, 2016 1st, 2nd, and Mitchell for Vanek. - dadeadhead
and that would be awesome |

He is your most complete prospect and he his a natural center. He will play at center, you will love him and i will hate him. |

I get that but I think he like Grigo is much more comfortable in the middle.
It was night and day from last year at the WJC Reinhart playing wing, to this year playing center on the top line. Granted he was a year older, but I think he's a natural playmaking 2-way center.
Let's face it, Girgensons is awesome, but he is also playing with hands down the 2 other best forwards on the team, and he's on pace for about 45-50 points max. His offense has a ceiling similar to a Dustin Brown/Ryan Callahan.
Can he play wing on a top line? Sure, center....Not so sure |

Last ten cup winning goalies
Bulin
Ward
Giggy
Osgood
Fluery
Niemi
Thomas
Quick
Crawford
Quick
Arguably that is a list of 7 good goalies and 2 potential greats. |

Pretty sure he just listed the last 10, and quick is there twice since he won it twice in 3 years, hence his total of 9 in the last 10 years |

Actually I'm talking Thomas.
Depends how you want to define Thomas's career.
Osgood has the HOF numbers but again look at the team's he was on.
Point is that's not a very awe inspiring list. |

None of them are average right? Could you define the 7 good goalies and the 2 greats? As a goalie coach, i'm very interested by your answer.

He said two potential greats. It was a joke.
Kind of like the article that said "the three worst quarterbacks to win a Super Bowl: 1. Trent Dilfer 2. Eli Manning 3. Eli Manning". |

Good read.
I am of the opinion Myers will be better than Zadorov even 5 years down the road.
Until Zads actually does something to warrant my opinion changing. |
