Hate how people say myers hasnt played well to date. You cant look at just his points. He plays on the worst offensive team in league, how to expect him to put up points. His team is alot better when he is on the ice. You can see that with team record and his plus/minus.

Well larkin and mantha look like great prospects. they are just prospects and havent proved anything. Yakpov was a great prospect and he hasnt done anything. Only reason larkin is even in here is because he played well in one tournament. Otherwise he would just good prospect.

Myers and two 2nds for tatar, larkin and 1st is fair.

I'm not quoting just points though - he has the worst corsi rel on your team right now besides Deslauriers and he hasnt shown improvement in most stats year over. I personally agree that i think Myers would fit in well with the Wings or really any team that can give him a good partner but his actual value (not what the sabres want) is not nearly that high.

This is why ive stated in most threads that i dont believe there is any chance he gets moved because no team will be willing to take that kind of gamble on a player who has not proven a ton since his rookie season.

I was just trying to figure out what fans value Myers at (as in if it was a fair trade) - not what they expect in a return because i know the Sabres will hold unless they get a huge overpay.

I dont think there is any chance that the wings part with that many assets for Myers...as much as he has franchise defenseman written on him he also has mediocre defenseman potential.

Michael question to you here - do you think Myers is worth a package of Mantha or Larkin ++ or just that that is what the sabres want as they want someone to overpay.

Cuz i can understand that point of view seeing as how they dont have to move him but at this point in time i dont see how anyone can value Myers at that kind of return based on his play to date. Just curious cuz this has clearly been a hot topic on many blogs.

Mantha is still an unproven commodity. Grigorenko scored a ton in the qmjl too and he still is not a strong enough skater for the NHL. By the way Mantha plays It is a calculated risk and thats why you can get him now. Worst case scenario for myers is you have a tall good skating average NHL dman. Mantha could and most likely will be a good winger in the NHL. Chance to be dominant but he has yet to score 1 goal in the NHL.
Myers immediately impacts the wings roster.

Id agree 100 % his movement up ice has been 10x bettter than last season

I think his D zone play is better, as well. He looks like a real shutdown defenseman now (on a crappy team, of course).

If he played on a good team, look out.

Agreed 100% but with 18, 19 year old players you pay for that potential. Once they hit 24 teams are less willing to gamble on potential even though for a large defenseman it takes longer to reach their potential.

My biggest positive hes done far less is the stupid cross check to clear out the front of the net, hes using his body a whole lot better

He's not asking what it would take to get the deal done and i dont think he really cares about that not being the point. He's asking a buffalo fan what they thing Myers is worth in a fair trade - i'd also be interested to know what you actually see as fair value versus what you think the GM would accept.

Having a conversation about the value of a player does not necessarily imply it is what you'd get/want/or need in a trade.
