Mantha and Larkin may turn out to be good, but they are still unproven. BUF can draft good players this year of about equal skill, and also get 3 solid contributors for the 2nd line and 2nd pairing D. I don't see that 1 Mantha/Larkin would improve the team as much as Jurco+Tatar+Dekeyser+1st rounder would. Also, BUF can package say Stewart and picks for a guy like E Kane, who could fit well on the 1st line. - mventres
Noway a team like winnipeg gives up a locked up asset like kane for a pending ufa and a couple picks unless those picks are two of Buffaloes first rounders |

All this talk is centered around how Tatar would be a minimal trade piece for Myers. However, as a Wings fan I tend to think, why would you get rid of Tatar for Myers???? Hate is a strong word but I would be "disappointed" to see Tatar moved for Myers.
Please don't get me wrong... by no means am I saying Myers isn't a top notch guy. He would be a great piece for any team who is deserving of a king's ransom in return. But for Detroit.... why would you get rid of a guy like Tats when in all likelihood you aren't a legit Cup Contender with or without Myers in 2015? So you drop that piece to hopefully make a run in a year with very long odds. Then what....??
Why wouldn't you keep Tatar, make a run with the pieces you have and then shoot for the right-handed def in the offseason via free agency or trade? Maybe this trade makes more sense in June/July when you can offset that roster spot with a Mantha/Pukinnen. I look at the Wings as a "next year" type of team and I think dropping your pants for Myers right now is just throwing away talent you could potentially keep for the future. IMO |

Nope, we need at least 4 sticks... Has to be an overpayment to get Murray to move him! Lol

I'm not quoting just points though - he has the worst corsi rel on your team right now besides Deslauriers and he hasnt shown improvement in most stats year over. I personally agree that i think Myers would fit in well with the Wings or really any team that can give him a good partner but his actual value (not what the sabres want) is not nearly that high.
This is why ive stated in most threads that i dont believe there is any chance he gets moved because no team will be willing to take that kind of gamble on a player who has not proven a ton since his rookie season.
I was just trying to figure out what fans value Myers at (as in if it was a fair trade) - not what they expect in a return because i know the Sabres will hold unless they get a huge overpay. - DirtyDozen
Myers stats went down because the team in whole went down alot. His rookie season was when sabres were the best team in league. On team with the weapons the wings have, he could easily put up 50 points again. Your team will improve alot for the next 2 years if you trade tatar and larkin for myers. The question is well it be a good trade in 3-5 years |

Ill take the player over a pick, im at the point of not "needing" any more - hubie
I agree, just said the same thing, maybe turn 2 or 3 late picks into a real early one |

Might have something to do with a 36% off zone start and facing the toughest comp. on the worst shot differential team in the league.
Corsi is dumb when used to analyze a Buffalo Sabre - sbroads24
Its still relative to the rest of the team - you'd think if he was the bright spot on a bad team that he'd be outperforming the other bad players but instead he's the 2nd worst defenseman on the team in this aspect. Not saying its the be all end all just that it's something to consider. |

an Ennis sized stick you pay extra for those giraffe sized sticks, not to mention the extra expense of the extra tape you have to use |

If it is not an overpayment . It makes no sense. - Maximum Signal
In division trades are generally steeper in price.
Buffalo doesn't have to move him. If Detroit wants him they are going to need to overpay for him.
IMO it will be
One of Nyquist/Jurco/Tatar
+
One of Larkin/Mantha
+
Kindl
+
a combo of pick/s and mid level prospects.
For Myers+.
I'd love to figure how to get Pulkkinen but that might be pushing it. |

I totally get that and I dont think any defenseman in the league would be lights out on the sabres. I think even doughty, weber, and keith would struggle - however i do think that they would outperform the other D on the team. I mean he's barely outscoring Josh Gorges and hes about as far from an offensive dman as they come. |
