LOL what?

You aren't getting Myers without overpaying for him.

Murray has said as much.

If Holland wants Myers it's gonna cost your team.

I'm not saying they should but those are the facts.

(frank) you Buffalo fans! For the past 3 years Bob Mckenzie, Daren Drager and Elliott Freedman have all brought up Myers name as a potential Trade. Those are REAL INSIDERS ... not little fan boys sitting around pumping up all their players, like they're some hidden gem. Face it his name has been rumored for years to be trade and you know what happens to those types of players ???? They end up getting traded. Tyler Myers WON'T finish his contract with your beloved Buffalo Sabers!

He's not asking what it would take to get the deal done and i dont think he really cares about that not being the point. He's asking a buffalo fan what they thing Myers is worth in a fair trade - i'd also be interested to know what you actually see as fair value versus what you think the GM would accept.

Having a conversation about the value of a player does not necessarily imply it is what you'd get/want/or need in a trade.

- DirtyDozen

This,

I'm interested in what they think fair value is, and what an overpayment is

Look at Myer's size, skill and contract... there really isn't. But thanks for the update, guess we should all stop talking : It's NOT gonna happen everyone!
- jackoc150

Nope they will just coming in grossly undervaluing him , not understanding he does not have to be traded . And if he is it will have to be a massive overpayment . Overpayment seems to be a foreign concept for most.

And Detroit could re-sign him...
- Feds91Stammer

your right, it's a lovely city

what would crosby fetch in a trade if his contract ended in 17 months

then ask yourself what crosby would fetch in a trade where he is locked up for 55 months

if you think the return is similar your nuts

Its still relative to the rest of the team - you'd think if he was the bright spot on a bad team that he'd be outperforming the other bad players but instead he's the 2nd worst defenseman on the team in this aspect. Not saying its the be all end all just that it's something to consider.
- DirtyDozen

In a meaningless aspect.

He is facing the toughest defensive minutes on the team. Most defensive zone starts. For whatever reason I don't understand why this isn't considered when people bring up his Corsi #'s.

Last year he had a positive relative Corsi on a historically bad team. And scored 9 goals in 60 games....On a historically low scoring team.

This year he's taking the brunt of every tough shift there is

Why do fans from other teams do no understand the concept that he is not on the trade block? We are not looking for what they think is a fair deal. We want a massive overpayment. It is not unreasonable to ask for. For a right handed 6 foot 8 great skating defense man , signed long term with a reasonable cap hit and Majority of his deal already paid off.

Give it up man. How many times have you said the exact same thing? do you have this written in a word doc so you can copy and paste this at every chance you get? You keep repeating over and over that our GM has stated that it would take a massive overpayment. Where are you getting this info from? just curious because I have never heard it out of Murrays mouth.

Sabres Fans:

Insert our player here

You have to over pay to get him

Other Fans:

We are not going to so forget it

It happens every year

In this case...Myers will not be moved unless its for an overpayment...he is not Drew Stafford pending UFA to be.

Can we please move on??

In division trades are generally steeper in price.

Buffalo doesn't have to move him. If Detroit wants him they are going to need to overpay for him.

IMO it will be

One of Nyquist/Jurco/Tatar
+
One of Larkin/Mantha
+
Kindl
+
a combo of pick/s and mid level prospects.

For Myers+.

I'd love to figure how to get Pulkkinen but that might be pushing it.

- dadeadhead

Some Sabres fans are getting to be the most delusional bunch out there.
And that's saying a lot.
You'd think we were talking Doughty or Weber here.

Tatar, Kindl, and a 2nd seems like fair value to me. A top 6 foward, top 4 defenseman, and 2nd rounder in a good draft for a struggling top 4 defenseman with top 2 potential.

Last season he said no one is untouchable but if you want one of 28, 55, or 57 it's gonna cost you.

No one is being delusional . Detroit fans do not understand the concept that he does not have to be traded and it will take an overpayment . Let it go and go after Yandle.

I definitely would not call it a meaningless aspect - and i understand that he has the lowest ZS% in the NHL and that he plays the toughest minutes. But almost every #1 defenseman plays the toughest minutes on their team. ZS is skewed for buffalo because they rarely start in the OZ so every defenseman on their team pretty much has terrible zone starts.

But like i said earlier he's barely outscoring Josh Gorges a guy who never scores. I do acknowledge he had a decent year last year - granted his postitive rel corsi wasnt a huge differential but he was better than the average on his team. I personally like the guy and would want him on my team if only becasue of his size but i think he remains a sabre.
