Tatar is not a first line player he is an average top 6 forward on a decent team.

After all of that you have potential and only potential and a cap dump.

Sure the potential is there and I am sure they are going to be decent to good NHL players but lets face it if that's what was offered for Leetch you would blow a gasket

Nyquist is a 1st line talent. The package im discussing is nyquist, mantha, kindl, and a 1st.

And yes I'd blow a gasket because that trade doesnt make sense. Value aside, which I think is close to fair, it just doesnt make sense from a hockey standpoint.

As for potential, thats what your trading for when you're acquiring myers too. I understand you guys love the kid but be honest, he's not playing like a true elite defenseman and any team that acquires him would be doing so for the potential he has, not for his lackluster play the past couple years.

not trying to be selective i just dont see (other than the win/loss stat which could be influenced by a ton of factors) what stats there are that support that tyler myers is a top pairing defenseman worth anything near what they expect to receive.
