My temporary Red Sox fandom was all about the obnoxious Yankee fans I worked with and schadenfreude. The horrible "THHAAA YANKEES WIN!" thing their radio guy does. And don't forget this guy who, to me, embodied every Yankees fan:

well maybe no 2nd but they did draft 7th the season before and the 2011 pick was 9th so they were already a pretty bad team and not sure how much Kessel alone was going to improve them. I guess I am just one to not want to trade top 10 picks. Granted Kessel was still young but still. - nastyflyergirl
oh yeah. i dont agree with it. they really tried to jumpstart the rebuild instead of doing it the right way.
it did really suck for them that the pick was top 2. i imagine they expected to go somewhere from 7th to the mid teens, which makes it a much easier pill to swallow.
and kessel was a young up and comer on the rise, who was already pretty established. he hasnt exactly been a bust, but he hasnt reached franchise cornerstone that a second overall tends to be.
still, it is a pretty penny to pay, even if the leafs did improve. say its picks 17 one year, and 20 the following, along with a second. would you move that package of picks for someone in the ryan johannsen/vladimir taresenko mold? |

Hey look, were the only team without shootout win this season.
Even though I hate the shootout I can't deny that this team lights a match to no less than 5 points a season by not addressing it. |

Berube "expects" Giroux will play - Jsaquella
You know what? Awesome new because without Giroux, everyone and everything goes brain dead.
Love or hate Lecavalier, objectively I really feel for this guy. Good start to the season but gets hurt. The only fault of his is where he stopped coming to the rink to play. So rightfully so he becomes scratched. Speaking for myself, I felt he was scratched for too long but what better way to motivate a play with a lot of pride. With this said, he's currently become our hottest player outside of Giroux who is currently injured. So a spot opens on both the first and second line but the guy still can't catch a break by moving up in the line up because somehow the fourth line is somehow too precious to separate but Rinaldo sure as hell deserves a look up there.
Congrats Agent Peggy Carter. I'm placing you ahead of the Flyers. Between the Lions impossible loss and the pathetic play, I've lost interest in sports for the moment. |

I feel sorry for Carlyle. They will never do anything with Phil and Dion as their core. Two players who should not be the centre of attention on any team especially in this market.
Nonnis should have taken the fall. - 3flyerkids
but you guys all laughed when i asked thoughts on him getting hired here! |

I'm really hoping that G and Laughts returning tonight will return the lines to something more functional -- like Rinaldo to the pressbox. |

Watching Giroux in pregame warm-ups, he doesn't look very comfortable doing anything with his left leg |
