That's fine. But what about when the Flyers play...well, how about the Sabres? Or the Hurricanes? Or Florida? - jmatchett383
i usually sell those.
although, there are talented players on all three of those teams. well, maybe just one with buffalo.

Yep. I'm preparing myself for another deep Rags playoff run. Dreading it too. |

I actually don't mind taking my kid to see the Flyers play those teams because the Flyers have an actual chance to win those games sometimes. |

For preseason games, it depends who is playing for the Flyers.
Last year, I went to a couple of preseason games, because Morin was playing.
This year, I just had too many conflicts and couldn't go, so for preseason games, I tend to give those away, because they are very difficult to sell. |

Speaking of the Leafs, Carter Ashton on waivers. Former 1st-round pick, 6'3 215 winger, has a scoring touch.
I would take a chance. Maybe he could slide onto the Couturier line. Give a little more offense to it. |

for me, its not just about watching and rooting for the flyers, i love watching talented players from other teams. thats part of the price of admission for me. like tonight, ill get to see Karlsson. ill enjoy that almost as much as rooting on the flyers. - Briere
I know that feeling.. I remember seeing Weber in Denver 2 years ago when the Preds played the Avs.. It was awesome seeing him on the ice.. And I remember seeing other guys play, like Suter, Quick, Yandle, Rask, etc. who I really enjoyed seeing in person for the first time.. the excitement is pretty neat.
...but it still doesn't make me want to dish out $170+ for tickets, $30+ for a beer and a couple hot dogs, $60+ in gas, and fighting the crowd to watch this team play..
...maybe if I lived closer to Philly, and I caught some tickets at a steal, or for sale for like $30 or whatever at the last minute... |

Dude, you don't have to explain yourself, just enjoy the game with your son. Some of these guys will debate you about the sun being kinda warm and ice being a little chilly. |

hard to argue.
we can debate the hart and what it actually means, like any mvp trophy in sports. the line is blurry as to whether it is the most valuable to a respective team, or just the overall best player. so i wont bring that into the evaluation.
yes, i still think crosby is better than giroux. but more valuable to their respective team's on ice product (lets be real, crosby is more valuable off ice/marketing. for as much as a lot of flyer fans bother me, there is a core of zealot supporters that have loyalty to levels you cant help but admire), its giroux.
but if crosby is out. there is still malkin. the defensive grouping is also better for the pens. giroux may get more specific offensive help at even strength having jake on his line, but as far as overall value and importance, giroux is virtually everything to the flyers in a way that few players are to their teams. |

Trash MacDonald's contract because of his Corsi in August. Link to it again in January, but make no mention of the fact that his Corsi this season is much better - close to 50% at ES.

I wanted them to claim Paajarvi from St. Louis. If they wouldnt claim him, they wont claim Ashton. Not the first time he's been on waivers.
I'd take both players over Lecavalier or Rinaldo, but, what do I know. |

Just seems like it would be a low risk move. You waive Vandevelde or Rinaldo. He can play either 3rd or 4th line. Maybe he needs a change of scenery. I don't think he ever played higher then the 4th line with the Leafs. |
