That's not Claude Giroux. There's no obsessive ass grabbing. - jmatchett383
The other players are sitting on sleds, so their asses are unavailable.
Also, with his cage on, he is unable to bite anyone's jersey or easily access any snot to wipe on someone. |

Bad news for some of you. Can't blame Crosby and Malkin for skewing the results.
Here are his seven most common linemates for his career. Same trend. Back to the drawing board.

You could also blame a few of them for when he was still very young and when the Hurricanes sucked |

I feel like you guys are just grasping for straws to make it seem like Sutter is a more effective player than he really is.... |

For those that for some unknown reason still hate possession
Some "unknown" reason?
I think folks have made their position pretty clear. Shot differential does not equal possession, shot differential statistics treat all shots as if they were the same, shot differential statistics give credit to all players on the ice regardless of actual contribution (just like +/-), shot statistics are inconsistently tabulated by teams just like real-time stats, possession has not been effective in terms of predicting future results (if they were, advanced stats guys wouldn't be looking for FO jobs, they'd be gambling), and because the NHL teams with paid front offices either don't care about advanced stats or give them lip service to placate their fan base while making eye-test hockey decisions like they always have.
Sutter is having a much better year than last year. |

Another slow day and another original blog from Wilson. Starting to think Sutter did something to you with your continued MO. Yep, Goc can handle third line center, like you said a few months ago. Tells me alot. |

Jeeze, seems like Sutter F*** your sister or something. I don't see the hate for a solid 3rd center who produces decently and is an all around good center.
What's your suggestion? Trade him for another top 6 winger? Play Goc full time 3c? |

Frozen urine doesn't work. If you want to soak them in urine, you don't freeze it. If you want to hurt them, you use DI water to remove the salt content. With frozen urine, you're not getting a "best of both worlds," you're taking the best properties of both away. |

Then he admits the graphs are utterly useless. You can't reallly compare him to goc because: 1) he doesn't get enough ice time and 2) he doesn't play with most of those players ever.
he also doesn't show any of those percentage of zone starts, so it's possible that sutter is starting in the defensive zone more times than not. There's also a chance sutter is being used against the other teams top lines. There's WAY too many variables at play here to take these graphs seriously. - drummer829
This. Also with regards to possession. Yeah its great and all, but last year the Pens had great possession, on the perimeters. SHoudl there be a new stat on perimeter possession in the O zone vs down the middle?

This, man does RW have a bone for Sutter.
Goc, 1g 2a Goc as a 3rd line c. Lmao. Dude wins faceoffs otherwise has no offensive ability nor physical presence. Ebbett would be a better 4th line c than Goc.
Sutter is fine as a 3c as long as he gets some decent wingers. |

I'm not the biggest fan of Sutter, but I also think he is a good player.. but, if anyone is bored... take a look at this link and tell me what 3C you would rather have than Sutter.....
http://www.rotoworld.com/...ams/depth-charts/nhl.aspx
Just based off of names and familiarity alone...
I'd rather have Brooks Laich, Valtteri Filppula, Adam Henrique, Lars Eller, Darren Helm... I dunno, looked off of names and familiarity, I don't really see TOO many players I would replace him with from around the league? Unless you can find another team's no. 2 center and bump him down to the 3rd... I'm not sure if I see MUCH of an upgrade... we are just so used to what Staal did as a 3C... we are comparing, or at least I am, comparing it to that... |

The difference is mainly that we can't afford any of those players when we have two of the best centers in the game, and if we could afford anyone of those they are on entry level/bridge contracts and we most likely would have to pay more for a good player with a good contract. Like you said it's not really an upgrade especially when you figure in what would be needed to even get someones third center who is "better" than Sutter. Better would mean 2 more goals, 4 assists in the regular season. Marginal difference that costs assets. |

If and when we are fully healthy, we really don't need any other players. Yeah another winger like Tlusty would be nice, but we are solid if healthy. And that's a big IF. |

Yeah that's kind of where I stand, who would be an upgrade that should be paid for? Sometimes the best 3C's are the ones that are drafted and developed by teams because they are so cost effective (in a round about way, thats how Filppula became a 3c in Tampa, with Tyler Johnson taking over as no. 2.. well poop, I'd call TJ no. 1 center in Tampa to be honest... |

Exactly. I can see Sutter traded for a high pick when his deals almost up. Use that pick and our pick for wings/center, by that time Sundqvist would HAVE to be close.. if not already ready to take over. Then we can develop our own depth offense, like Tampa chicago etc |
