The US had enough talent around him to put up much better numbers than he did. Eichel disappointed plain and simple. He wasn't the reason they fell short, but he was a reason.

And the biggest difference between McDavid and Eichel was Reinhart. Canada didnt lean on McDavid to center the top line. To take all the tough matchups. To provide the offense. They just asked him to come along for the ride. Eichel was everything. Top center. Captain. Tough matchups. And he didnt have an NHL player alongside him....
