I know, the thought of RNH as a #1 centre makes me laugh too.
- bloatedmosquito

So how did that soft POS Sedin become one? or is he not? No one in the league softer than sedin?

Nuge is an inch shorter and 3 pounds lighter with 34 more hits this year.

Marks for Nuge, Petry, and Eberle are a bit high. Your Petry explanation is way off IMO. He's good but not above average. He can't hit the net with his bloody shot and makes many gafs. I'd say B-. Klef should be higher. Playing tons of tough minutes as a rookie and rarely makes mistakes. His shut down ability and skating look awesome. He has the best poke check of all our d and recovers when he does (frank) up. He's been at least B.
- Iggysbff

I think Klef will finish the year with Higher grades than what I gave him. I was harsh on him because his first few games weren't as rock solid has his last few. He has been getting really good, really fast. It's quite impressive actually.

I am very high on Petry this year. By my eye and by Number I judge his play as very very good, but that's as high a mark as he gets without adding more offense.

Nuge is the best player on the team and has taken the most faceoffs for the Oilers. He leads their offense and added Even strength scoring to his bag of tricks. I have been impressed with him all year. I really like what he's done and if he starts scoring on the PP then he goes Supernova.

I could have been harsher on Nuge but he has actually impressed me most nights.

I agree with most the A's and b's but most of the C's should be D's and a lot if not all the D's should be F's.
Yak, Schultz, Nikitin, Joensuu, The goalies, Perron, Pitlick and Hunt have all been tragic Fails this season for the Oilers.

The real question is, who will replace him when he goes to pasture in a couple of years?

One would think there would be more moves for prospects/picks then. Still time I guess.

If the leafs need a #1 centre, then why the (frank) would Nonis be calling about RNH? Those itty bitty tiny shoulders won't be able to hold up crashing and banging with the best d-men in the league.

He's super skilled but not a true #1 on a contending team.

- bloatedmosquito

I think Nuge will be every bit as good as mr.Sedin when he hits his prime, it's a fair comparable. You can disagree if you want, I doubt anyone really gives a poop.

I think it's a fail this year if we draft more than 1 time in the first round this draft. This is the year we should be able to grab a top dman.

Could be. I don't Mac T is looking to add more youth, but I could see some of those guys traded for more moveable assets that be flipped for veteran pieces.at least that's my hope, anyway.

i don't remember him ever playing 7 games straight at those minutes, i'll take your word for it, but it still takes longer than 7 games to try and get someone going who's struggeling.

This season is already lost, there's no reason why he shouldn't be playing top line minutes with skilled players to finish the season, worse case scenario, he continues to struggle and we stay at the bottom getting a good pick, best case scenario, he becomes the player we drafted.

i don't see any positives to not having him finish this year with skilled players at 17-18 min a night.

- SpoiledByOil

I think Yaks problems mostly stem from confidence but the fact that Nelson came in and dropped him from 14 minutes a night under Eakins to 12 and halved his pp time is kind of telling where management views him right now.

Sorry for being a grump earlier. Just because I'm having a poopty day at work doesn't give me a right to be a Richard to others.

Horvat is but he won't be a 1C. Virtanen is wing. We will be in the same position as TO and EDM to some degree with C's soon.

Your in that sticky situation where you wanna ride out the sedins and see if they can do it but trading them now would be huge for your team. I wouldnt trade em because they are still producing though.
