Nathan MacKinnon had a good year last year. Not much better than Nuge this season... If at all.
Sedin is an extremely biased opinion.
Zetterberg is better than Nuge, but he is a left winger
Staal is declining and is only gonna get worse.

My bad, I didn't read the whole convo leading up and misconstrued what you said to be that RNH would never be a legit #1 Center. As it stands right now, Nuge is not a legit #1 Center. - Jeropotato
But he's a top 6 guy & that's all that matters. |

1) Seguin plays wing for the most part.
2) MacKinnon see Seguin.
3) Duchene that's debatable at best. - Reveen

Not arrogance. I was only agreeing with Chet:
On the Oilers, RNH is the 1C as that is the position he plays as he is the most talented. Therefore, RNH is a 1C. Hell, if you want, we can see he is a 1C by default.
-Chet
Sorry the word "technically" offended you. Let me get my thesaurus and see if we can find a word more agreeable to you.
Sorry, RNH has played a full season... just like the 20 goals and 40 assist he amassed the same season. Right? Hell, we are rounding up so why not? - bloatedmosquito
Ahhh the old deflecting when proven wrong response. I would expect nothing less from you. Just so we are on the same page then, Dank has had 2 79 game seasons, and an 81, and didn't play all 82 games until his 4th year, so we can say in any of those years he didn't play a full season. Hank only played 78 in his third year so clearly not a full season player that year. |

i'd give you johansen and krejci right now, the rest you can make arguments one way or the other. Is Couture playing center? i was on a sharks blog and they were complaining that marleau was dragging him down and needed to be on the 3rd line |

RNH and Dutch have almost the exact same stats across the board (minus Faceoffs, Duchene holds the edge in that) and this is considered a bad year for Duchene. RNH is bouncing back nicely after some tough injury seasons but I dont think he is considered debatable yet with Duchene.
I know you love RNH but he still needs to progress to get to where Duchene has been for a few seasons now. Both Young and I think RNH has the higher ceiling for a more complete Center but hes not there now. - DDM-Coga
But Duch is DEFINITELY not better than the RNH, right? |

He also blatantly forgot Tyler Bozak. He's basically a Selke candidate being dragged down by two PPG wingers and 5 minutes of PP time a night. Poor sod. - AdamFrench
Ok talent evaluator, would you have RNH in your top 20 centres this season? Not potential or trade value. Just a better centre than 20 others in the league. |

Depends on what sort of player you want, Duchene I think has more game breaking talent and speed. Right now hes getting the Stastny treatment with a boat load of defensive zone starts bc he is stronger on the Draw that Mack (before he switched to wing). So his offence has been sacrificed bc of that, cant expect a guy to pile up the points always starting a shift in his own end and hoping for a clean break out.
I like RNH bc hes smart, does the little plays that go unnoticed through a game, and has great vision out there. But I give the homer pick to Duchene bc we know what he has done and has dont more consistently than RNH (granted Duchene is older so has more opportunity to be more consistent in his career) |

Nope.
Though he has been great. I wonder what his statline and rep would be like if Hall and Eberle weren't slumping hard |

Duchene's proved a lot more so he'd definitely get my nod as of right now.
I foresee pretty similar careers, though |

"Additionally, these grades are for individuals but if we start to look at them as a team you have to start compounding them. If a line consists of 3 players with grades in the C's then what we're really getting is bad mixed with bad mixed with bad. As a line they may grade out significantly worse than their individual marks."
??????WHAT??????
Guess what the average grade of three C's is? Oooooh I know I know...is it an F? Yes, Mr. Henderson...you get an F.
I appreciate that you wrote this blog though, and thank you...but stop trying to do math (for your own sake and ours).

His comments come in a nicer, fluffier, less arrogant package. When he makes a point like this that i don't fully agree with, but can understand the logic, its easier to have a nice spirited debate with him.
Is that what you were looking for? |
