I know where drop him off in S.F. ........polk st. There's plenty that would have a field day with him in that part of the city.
- SJSharks39

He would most likely enjoy that too much. Think it would be better to drop him off on Alcatraz and tell the (frank)er to swim back.

You don't like when other teams make huge over payments for your players?
- ruttager17

Haha...huge overpayments....

At what point do we get over the position where players were drafted?

You think I would be happy if the Flames traded Gaudreau for RNH?

"Additionally, these grades are for individuals but if we start to look at them as a team you have to start compounding them. If a line consists of 3 players with grades in the C's then what we're really getting is bad mixed with bad mixed with bad. As a line they may grade out significantly worse than their individual marks."

??????WHAT??????

Guess what the average grade of three C's is? Oooooh I know I know...is it an F? Yes, Mr. Henderson...you get an F.

I appreciate that you wrote this blog though, and thank you...but stop trying to do math (for your own sake and ours).

Granted, I have Arts degrees not Science degrees, but think of it as a multiplying effect. Instead of taking .75 three times and getting 2.25 we are multiplying .75 by .75 and then once more to get .42

Left Winger Player X is barely passable as an NHLer. His Centerman player Y is barely passable as an NHL player. The Right Winger Player Z is barely passable as an NHL player.

Are we expecting the XYZ Line to perform at a barely passable level or are we now going to see 3 bad players fail miserably?

Has nothing to do with the position of the drafted player, or I would be saying Yak is worth Monahan. Not a huge overpayment, but right now, hands down RNH is > Monahan

If the Flames were offered RNH for Monahan I am not so sure I would be happy if they pulled the trigger.
- The-O-G

I would probably quit blogging, quit following the Oilers, and quit watching Hockey altogether if the Oilers traded RNH for Monahan so I'm glad you wouldn't be happy either.

I'm just curious as to the reason's why RNH is so much better than Monahan?

The average of 3 variables with the same value somehow becomes less??? So you are saying an average of 30, 30 and 30 is less than 30 and you are telling Hendo not to do math?

This is about the equivalent of me asking why Gio is better than Petry.....but I am able to take off the homer glasses and see things for what they are.

Monahan is a good player, I would have been happy if the Oil drafted him. I still believe RNH has a significantly higher ceiling.

Plus now Monahan has that Calgary stank on him.

I got what you were trying to say, I was just being a little bit too literal with the math perhaps (probably after a long day of numbers and inept traders etc.) It isn't mathematically possible but this is not the forum to discuss that. (once you throw in a "chemistry coefficient" it alllll makes sense. sorry for the little blow up Matt, you write well.

So you would quit blogging AND watching hockey all together because RNH's ceiling is a lot higher?

I don't care to know what a "derp" is, but it's your new nickname. In fact, I think "derpy" fits a bit better.

go get me a coffee derpy.
