We have an AHL team full of our picks yet they are one of the worst teams in the league. - MCGUIZZY
The teams that win in the AHL are usually the ones filled with fringe NHLers with years of experience. I hear goaltending's been an issue in Rochester as well. Otherwise the 1sts seem to have done well while playing there. |

No it doesn't but I wouldn't judge them until we put a remotely NHL looking roster together up front and they are over 22. You can tell they will be solid NHL d men, exceptional maybe not but they will be on some team's top 4 for a long time IMO. - BigStew
I think Risto will be a top pair d man
I think Z will be a top 4 d man
I know Pysyk should be a top 4 d man
I know Girgens will be fine on the second line
nothing screams upper end talent though
and rochester is a mess |

Fair enough, I just think the Sabres are so bad it is literally impossible for the young guys to look good. - BigStew
I agree but What about the amerks? I know we have been calling players up but for the most part that team is full of our 1st and 2nd rounders yet we are one of the worst teams in the league. Pysyk, McCabe, Armia, grigo, carrier, larsson among others. What's the excuse there? |

The defense is always going to look suspect with this forward group. They are constantly on their heels instead of their toes. - sbroads24

Upper end talent was drafted last year, will be this year and next year IMO. We just need the D you stated above to be what we think they can be. |

Probably why they're all in on this draft. Need that upper end talent to pull it all together. I do think 1 or 2 of the guys you just mentioned gets moved though. |

Ruhwedel deserves another shot with the big club as well - homiedclown
Nolan said Pysyk belongs here, so why didn't TM trade Mezzaros for the pick and call up Pysyk? Tank reasons???
The last Roch. game I saw, Ruhwedel was knocked around and off the puck like a rag doll. I like him but I think he's too small.

I have no clue what the Amerks roster looks like and haven't seen them play. How is the goaltending? Do we actually have any veteran presence down there? A lot of different factor at play to be a good AHL team. |

I don't exactly agree. They should be better than they are. Pysyk has been bad as well as mccabe. Armia I'm most impressed with but he has had his share of injuries. |

Yea they had a rough night no doubt, but when you can't sustain any type of pressure in the O-zone it puts a ton of pressure on the defense

Bagnall, matt ellis. Multiple 1rst rounders and players with nhl experience including players like Pysyk who should be elite at that level but has looked bad. |

I'm just pissed off

I have never been all that impressed with Armia but I have only seen him play in the World Juniors, from what I saw he has lots of talent but is lazy as hell. |

? Yea my point was he didn't need time to "adjust". He got it from day one. He was the youngest kid in the AHL, put up over a point per game and named an AHL all star. Kid comes back for WJC. And puts up 5 goals and 4 assists in 6 games. We haven't had anyone like that in a long long time. - MCGUIZZY
His 3 pts in the tourney we're nice. I'm sure Reinhart could put up good numbers in the AHL too.
We've had much better and recently though. |

They all suck right now besides the goalie on any given night. Even Girgensons has looked lost. And I have never seen him look out of place before |

On a good note, we have the cap space and draft picks to be able to use to help out some of the team that may be having a bit of trouble with the cap next year. |

We'll then I guess you haven't seen him play in a long time. The last time he played in the WjC was in 2012... Anyways Armia has legit skill. I wouldn't call him lazy. He has battled wit injuries since he made the jump to North America. He has made major strides this year and has looks like a completely different player. He looks like the kid we all wanted him to be when he was drafted. I think once he's healthy he will be. A major bright spot and in my opinion had th best shot at being a first line player among the prospects that we already have. |

Yeah, I haven't seen him play in a long time, sounds promising which we can't say about everyone on the team. |

I wouldn't call 4 people "full of 1st/2nd rounders".
Most of our prospects aren't in the AHL. |

When Nolan was hired I thought he would be here until we drafted some talent. Once that happens I hope he is gone.
