Why the hell would he go from a team with a good defense and no QB to a team with a great defense and no QB???

The bolded is why...I also think with a OC that was either allowed to do more like Fred Jackson suggested the Bills would have made the playoffs no matter who their QB is.

EJ could be a game manager type I still believe. A notch below Andy Dalton but could put up decent numbers and he actually protects the ball...just my 2 cents

No idea if EJ will be the answer but they need to give him more than the 10 or so games he's played thus far. And when he did play the offence was very vanilla and didn't allow him to do much.

Murray seems to think we have a team filled with " Crosby's , Gretzky's and Shea Weber's and Paul Coffey" types. I would have moved Mez for a 4th to get Psysk in the lineup, but that's just me.

I think it's more than that 89. I think TM understands fully how vital it is to finish last to be certain the team gets one of the top 2 picks, and the reason he hasn't started dumping the obvious suspects is due to the surprise at how bad Edmonton and others are so far. I believe he's going to wait right up to the deadline before shedding players to make sure their record is as bad as it possibly could be as he knows there's a real chance the team is better with some of the AHL players playing in the NHL. Remembering what he got for Miller and Ott, which wasn't exactly a ton when he said he took the best offer available is what has me thinking this way about TM's strategy.

A lot of it has to do with reaching the cap floor. If we fail to stay above it we lose our 1st. So we retain as much salary as we can as long as we can.

We don't know what a decent OC would do with EJ. Fact is Marrone kept a very tight leash on him. Told a scrambling QB not to run...instead of teaching him when the right time to run is and how to slide to avoid injuries he told him not too. That's bad coaching. The kid has an arm. He has the arm strength to throw the deep ball, he needs to work on accuracy true but he protects the ball pretty well he needs to be coached, something that hasn't been done in his time in the NFL

If the Bills could trade up to the end of round 1 they could maybe get Hundley. I'd be in favor of keeping EJ then and trying to develop both of those kids and hope one of them pans out.
