cabin would you come here ? i'm just saying it's confusing you think he want to win a cup - gerbe75pts
Gorges is 30 years old. He has several solid years left. Besides Toronto, who else truly wanted him? (honest question as I don't have much info) Who knows what the conversation was between Gorges and the Sabres but, I am sure it mentioned the Sabres positive outlook on the future. Similar to what Darcy promised the fans, suffering now but high upside in future |

maybe it will be .. McEichel and Pavel Zacha or McEichel , Barzal or |

Dave Davis @DaveDavisHockey
Today on Calgary radio, Friedman discussed Stewart's problems in Buffalo & said potential trade partners are getting "scared away" from him.
Dave Davis @DaveDavisHockey
Stewart does have 8 points in his last 12 games, but this team is so bad that I doubt that pace is sustainable.

I don't buy it at all.
Are other GM's really that dumb that they can't figure out guys won't produce here? |

I said it before when it was told to me, Murray is holding on to these guys for too long and he's asking a lot, it may or may not hurt us. - SABRES 89
Wasn't that one of the biggest knocks on Regier?
Granted, Murray came out and said that he wanted to send a message that he wasn't going to get pushed around or taken advantage of because he's new at the GM position, but ultimately, what good does it do? |

we will have 4 first after the deadline - gerbe75pts
Coller is a little 'light in the loafers'.
I don't like anyone on WGR's staff. They're all arrogant and opinionated (I know, they getting paid for their opinions).
I couldn't see myself wanting to sit down with any of them and have a beer. Bulldog used to be alright but he's become 'Schoped'. |

Surely Nolan has a strategy other than being ' mentally tough'?
Time for a coaching change? - strongsupporter
I highly doubt he does, and they should make the change after the draft. |

you might want to add, imo, a first line that was putting up a bevy of points, a real second line and a top-four on defense that was formidable...
not to take away from stellar goaltending - Michael Pachla
Goaltending has a way of making everybody look better. It boots team morale and can really cut down your opponent's as well. It's no coincidence that as soon as the goaltending came back down to earth, everything else returned to normal as well. |

"Tim Murray held onto the Islanders' pick, Neuvirth and Stewart for too long, it seems. This would be a hash tag just saying"- tweet from matt coller
Idk how i feel about this tweet. He followed up saying how we "knew" the islanders were going to be good and shouldve traded the pick earlier.
I think at this point you just stock pile as many picks as you can and go from there - yen6d1
he's a big analytics fan...maybe that's what the numbers were telling him...
the isles have cooled since their hot start and other teams are starting to catch up |

If they aren't going to resign these guys, move them. He's going to have to come down on his asking price IMO. But the longer he waits the longer it hurts us. |

Does anyone really think Stewart has that much value? He has been horrible lazy for most of his career and most likely will never change. He was a cap dump in the Miller trade and if he had any value STL would have traded him well before dumping him on us. |

He has some sort of value, just not a lot.
2nd and a 3rd I see at the deadline
Staff maybe a little more.
GM's realize that these players are stuck on a rebuilding team.
Stewart had 15 goals last deadline when he was traded here and 18 in 48 games the year before, bigger guys that have the ability to score have value |

Put yourself in another teams shoes. If you had a top ten pick in a draft where the top ten is very strong why would trade that away? I mean it will depend on where the isles and blues end up of coarse but I dont think its as easy of a sell as you make it out to be |

or it was sent tumbling down to earth because of the numerous prime scoring chances against and little production up front...
again, not disputing goaltending was exceptional but, imo, there's more to the story |

I went at it with him on Larsson yesterday. Pointed out a small sample size that I posted here about how in 1 game Varone had 5 shots on goal. While Larsson had 9 in 12. Then he went on and on told me I was wrong. I laugh now cause what happened last night...Varone puts 2 in and Larsson is crying that he is playing in Rochester.
Say what you will about his linemates but Larsson is nothing more than a 3rd or 4th liner. That's who he is going to end up playing with anyway. Varone is making the most of his chance while Larsson did not. |

This is part of it. The team defense overall was pretty good up until Myers, Mitchell, Foligno and Gionta left the lineup.
There have been more penalties, 2 on 1's and just point blank opportunities lately.
That....and Risto and Zads have fallen off a cliff |

So they would take a chance to see if their guy will be there 7 picks later? and this is all based on the ises having the 17th pick? doubt it. And you think a team just has one player in mind and if they are gone they will willingly trade down 10 or more spots? no
Like I said it depends where the ises and blues end up but if they are in the 20's I highly highly doubt they would trade out of the top ten |

lots of GMs do this it happens a lot .. they will have a list of 3-4 players and they will trade down to get more picks + they get the player they want |

Grigo will be added to a deal is my feeling, TM didn't draft him.
Myers/Grigo to Colorado (Roy likes him and could maybe give him the confidence he needs).
Guys, Myers does still have potential to go along with his size (hence the trade value). I know many think I can't stand him, but there is a reason he has value. |
