LW or RW?
- MJL

And this is just a guess but I'm thinking that it might behoove all of our young wingers to learn to play the left side. I don't see any RW openings coming up on the 1st or 2nd lines any time soon.

If they can move out a defenseman or two at the TDL to stockpile some picks, might as well call him up and give him an extended look. He wasn't very impressive in his call up, but he is playing well for the Phantoms

If we're sellers at the deadline I would not be surprised in the slightest to see a few kids start getting some looks in the NHL, if even just for a few games. Manning, Cousins, Alt, Leier etc.

Columbus overpaid for bob but I guess that's what a Vezina in shortened season can get you

Since he's been a Jacket, the only goalie in the entire NHL(minimum 50 games) with a higher save % than Bobrovsky is Tuukka Rask.

Well, then why didn't they just get Rask?

Agreed, but it's not as drastic. I heard the numbers and I was like...Jesus.

He's only .001 behind Rask, too. The knock on Bob is lack of postseason success.

i dont like sinking a ton of money into the goalie. but, overall, he has been pretty damn good. and good on columbus for at least locking up one of their name brand guys. i know he isnt technically home grown for them or whatever, but he did hit it big with them, and good on them for retaining him. not having your stars get prominent and fly the coop is a good stepping stone towards sustained legitimacy.

I'm sure that is why they decided to go that route. He's a fan favorite and he's been great for them. It's an overpayment, but he's making $6mm something now. He wasn't going to take a haircut to give up UFA years

yeah i agree. the extra mil, or so, they can eat it for what it means to them in terms of presence for the franchise. they just need to get johannsen locked long term.

They were close to using a CBO on him this past summer, he had to promise to come to camp in top shape.
