terrific.
i'm enjoying watching other teams play...especially out west. means nothing, and it's just entertaining hockey, like the blues/canes game yesterday for example.
our nightmare just won't seem to ever end. - hammarby31
I'm watching it because I still want to watch. I'm enjoying the other games, too. I just can't imagine not watching them. |

It's important to watch your team during the lean years. Makes you appreciate the good years a little more.
It's like when I hear the front running Phillies fans complain about being bad. They must not remember the teams from 94-2005 very well |

I am watching too but it is different this year. I don't care if they win or loose. I Really thought they would be better than they are. I thought they were a playoff team but they are far from it. At this point I just want to see Hextall make some SMART moves and improve this team for next year. I don't want to wait 2-3 more years for a playoff appearance.

I just wish they'd accept this season is lost and start preparing for the future. Made no sense to continue playing Mason.
Even if he was healthy, he deserved a night off. Played several games in a row because Emery was pulled in the first period against NJ - PhillySportsGuy

he has to (hold let me word this correctly before the hockeybuzz trade actuaries jump down my throat, which they will anyway) package that 1st rounder for a top pair defenseman, otherwise be prepared for voracek and giroux to go the way of joe thorton |

i'll always watch them. but it does feel different when you have to watch the games knowing your team doesn't stand a chance to be good or make a difference in the league.
but we may be jaded as flyers fans because they are always a good team. most years following this team you know they can at least make some noise in the playoffs, so it's strange when you have a season like this. |

I think that they need to be smart in both the short and long term. I don't want to miss the playoffs for 2-3 years, but if it ultimately means a better team, then I can live with it.
The key is smart. Avoid shortsighted moves. Don't overpay for assets that are usually readily available. |

It's damned hard, and I fully expected a bad season. I still love it when they win. It might not hurt as much when they lose, which is why I'm more philosphical about yesterday's game. |

i've missed a bunch of games this year, more than i ever have, generally because i've got something else going on, but i've also forgot they were on a couple of times. i'm at an unprecedented level of apathy, which bases on yesterdays game is not surprising. they're boring. really, really boring, and usually lose in the process. |

I would like see where we are picking in the first but I would rather hold on to that pick. A lot of people don't like Big Buf but I would target him in off season. He is physical and he can play. Hopefully Hextall gets good return for are buffet of Dman...and I would also see what Read could fetch. |

I get that, I'm not beating my chest and saying that anyone is less of a fan.
I fully get the apathy, because I'm not even mad at losses anymore.
I just, for myself, can't imagine not watching. When I was in the Navy, I had to rely on mailed videotaopes and the Fox game of the week, with the occasional ESPN game.
It's just such an integral part of what I do, despite the inferior product. Plus my kids are starting to get more into it, and I like to share it with them |

I don't think Ed would be happy witha 2-3 playoff hiatus. Let's just see Hexy be smart with trades and FA's |

Unless it's a pretty young guy, who is a legitimate number one, I'm not trading that pick. They might end up getting an elite scoring forward or number one defenseman with that pick.
I have no interest in trading Brayden Schenn & a potential Duncan Keith for Keith Yandle |

i also still enjoy when they win and just kind of shrug when they lose.
i look at yesterday's game as a good effort defensively (with some breakdowns thrown in), which i guess might be what the players are referring to when they say they thought they "saw some good things", but dreck offensively. obviously the bruins get a lot of credit for what the flyers offense looked like, but deep down inside we know they're usually uninspiring offensively no matter what. |

if he's a free agent id take a stab at him(be great to see him in our new "conditioning program") simply cause he's better than whatever we have albeit poor in his own end.

I'm sure he wouldn't. But they need to be smart and patient. They can't embark on a total rebuild, and if they are, then deal Giroux and Voracek |

Very apt. The offense is one line, they need another creative playmaker-or to split G and Jake. |

i know, i wasn't suggesting you were.
i can't imagine not watching either. it's just not must see tv for me right now, and i genuinely do not care whether they win or lose this season. i'm a creature of habit, like most people, and it feels weird to not feel, yet i still watch. know wat i'm sayin'?!

I'm simply tossing out a top pair defense man whose name has been in the rumor mill.
I wouldn't do it for John Carlson, either |
