Subban is their best goaltending prospect and they drafted him with the intention of taking over for Rask, imo, just as Rask should start to decline.
Stewart doesn't even begin to start that convo, imo.
I know you said "add to" Stewart, but I think whatever you would have to "add" to Stewart turns into the main part of the deal coming back from Buffalo. - grand-magus
Possibly...
I guess my hopes are that we get a couple teams bidding for him
We generally have gotten very good returns when selling off our players. I'd say in every instance we've gotten more than we thought we would, going way back to Gaustad.
Also, teams get desperate. Remember Washington trading Forsberg to Nashville for Erat?
This time of year is when u might be able to get a good prospect from a playoff bound team.
That's my hope anyways

This is what im hoping for.....desperation....a team that assumed they would make the playoffs loses a key player to long term injury and tries to slot in SOMEONE that has a similar skill set. Gaustad is a great example of what can be had from a desperate team. |

That Forsberg trade, still to this day, has me flabbergasted.
McPhee should have been drawn and quartered after that deal. Kid is a star.

The Bruins are to smart to dump Subban in the division no less and it will cost a lot to get him, just like it will cost a lot to get Myers if the Wings want him, especially within the division. The asking for Myers is very high, not saying he truly is on the block but if some team wants him, it will cost. |

The Ducks got a good one when they made that trade a few weeks ago for that Rickard Rakell. |

Bingo... Rex is suppose to be a great coach but the Jets won 3 games this year. The Buffalo Bills haven't had a solid QB since Kelly was here and a controversial decision made in '99 (wild card game). They have been plugging in a bunch of 2nd stringers and the playoffs have been an afterthought.
I'm hoping that Ryan is coming here after some in depth talks of how they can fill this position. Otherwise, he will be added to the list of coaches that failed to get this team to the post season.

And when the Buffalo Bills do get to the playoff they will have to beat Andrew Luck to get to the big game. In the end, an average QB will not work, they need above average or elite. |

It doesn't necessarily have to be that either.
Could be a trade like the one we got Fasching & Deslauriers in where we had to give up McNabb
I just don't wanna see us acquire any more mid level prospects, we have more than enough IMO

Cutler is prob the best QB we can get
But his pricetag will prevent us from resigning guys like Spiller, Hughes, etc |

Murray wants to much for players, that will hurt him. |

That's a point to consider as well
Doesn't have to be Subban though. There's lots of teams out there with young goalies I like.
Stewart + for.....
Our goalie prospects have struggled this year for the most part. I think thats an area Murray needs to address |

He certainly seems to be aiming high.
I'm Ok with that though. I doubt he really expects to get a 1st and a top prospect for Stewart, Stafford, Enroth, etc
Hopefully starting that high will still leave us with a good return when he makes compromises while negotiating trades |

I don't think Homers source is still with the Sabres but he may know another person within. |
