The Marlies are starting to get healthy and going on a bit of a run now. I hope they put those three together. It would be best for their development.

Nylander is a nice addition for the Marlies at this point in the season. I'm assuming anyway, that if he's been doing so well in the SEL that he'll contribute with the Marlies.

I marinated a slab of pork ribs in dry rub and beer overnight, just put them in the oven for a late meal with this late hockey game. Still have to make the sauce.

Every time I think he's dialed back a bit on his rhetoric about euros, he does something like going off about Nylander like he did. Does he stop to think about this kid who's coming over into the fishbowl that is Toronto and has to start off getting ripped by Don Cherry when all he's done is play some good hockey recently?

Cherry rips the Leafs for not drafting Canadian/Ontario/Toronto tough guys, but he ignores the fact that aside from this recent draft they've actually drafted quite a lot of local or Canadian players.

This is my expectation also. Like last year when they swept the Cali road trip and everyone said that was the last tough hurdle, now that they did well in Cali they can't possibly (frank) this up......

He grudgingly gives some respect to some of them, but it's pretty rare. I totally dig that he pumps up Canadian players and Canada, but I wish he wouldn't do it by ripping guys from elsewhere.

I remember one time when Wellwood was on a run with the Leafs, he said see, you don't have to be a huge bruiser if you have hands, you can be a speedy forward with hands. But you take an American like Kessel or Swede like Nylander and Cherry's all 'he's soft, small, doesn't hit'. Tell that to Gretzky.
