Zero goals bud...
Leafs have a habit of playing to their opponents level.. If they lost to Edmonton 1-0 but played the same way you'd say they played like poop. - Arctic_AARDVARK
I would becuase the Oilers are an AHL team. And I wouldn't because the way the Leafs played tonight is the way successful teams play. No one shirked their defensive responsibility tonight.
I have far more time for the players making mistakes and losing games through this process than I do/did with the way they have played the previous 3 years which has ultimately ended in disaster of epic proportions and hanging out the few players who play the defensive side of the game to dry.
Personnel changes need and probably will happen. But the arriving players need to enter an environment where there's accountability and specific instructions and not watch their game collapse like Beauchemin, Robidas, Clarkson, Komisarek, Kulemin, Schenn, Versteeg et al. |

Didn't the oilers just beat LA?

No one likes losing.. No one tunes in to watch them lose..
Idk man... Nothing is black and white. There's many contributing factors that decide the outcome of each game. If they played well defensively tonight kudos to them. But they still lost and that's nothing to praise. It's all about consistency with the Leafs.

I think after all these years of (frank) ups fans will put up with boring if it results in them winning. It will take time obviously, but tonight they didn't embarrass themselves and really took the game to LA. Outshooting them in the process I believe.
The entertaining style they have played in the previous 3 or 4 years set this organization back quite a bit and is going to give them huge headaches with regards to the cap. It's also resulted in (frank) all.
There aren't many successful teams who are fun to watch. It's just the way it is. Entertain or try to win?
Being outshot 50-16 and winning 4-1 doesn't seem to be the way the previous 5 or 6 Stanley Cup winners have gone about things |

Yeah I agree..
You need a balanced team.. An overly offensive but poor defensive team is the worst combo you can have.

What I took from this game:
1) The leafs are soft. Komarov sent head first into the boards, Panik head first into the boards. Kings D took runs at the leafs forwards all night. Besides Bodie, who used his face to block punches, this team doesn't stick up for themselves or teammates.
2) Kessel still refuses to commit to defense. I'm so tired of watching him rush up the ice lose the puck and instead of stopping and battling to get it back, he just does a giant loop and he has this fake I'm exhausted skate to the bench. He does it every time back to the bench. Very frustrating player to have on the team.
3) One of Reilly/Gardiner need to go. Suppose to be offensive d-men. Neither one is putting up points this year that would make you excuse their defensive play. Cant have 2/6 d-men that can't play D |

Can't give up on Mo yet.. I think he needs to just simplify his game.

On my way home I stopped at a shop. A homeless man followed me yelling interesting things.
I can now tell you that I have been granted the ability to stop peoples hearts by blinking and I am now an Aryan deathgod with the power of cosmic and galactic adrenaline powers. I am invited to join his crusade against the unholy and become a hornet myself, taking the place as viceroy of his new dimensional empire while travelling on one of his two spaceships. He suggests Prometheus as it is built for comfort.
He assured me that in my past life I was Ivan the Terrible and that he was Alexander, Caesar, William Wallace, Genghis Khan and Jesus.
I think my luck is finally turning around lads. |

It is always summer under the sea. The merwives wear nennymoans in their hair and weave gowns of silver seaweed. I know. I know.
Under the sea it snows up, and the rain is dry as bone. I know. I know. |

I'll just say what everyone is thinking, but none of you pukes actually have the courage to declare:
We need Nylander's scoring touch on the big club. |
