Is this the signal for people to come up with the "small sample size" argument?
- Pecafan Fan

A sample size is sigificant if, and ONLY if, it shows actual results aligning with advanced stats.

Any time the results bely the stats, the sample size, by definition, is too small.

He's not using an iPad
- Big_Lightnin

I do and I don't have any issues whatsoever on this site using it. I don't blindly touch ads with my fingers, use the same caution when browsing the site, not hard to do if you are using a 9.7" screen.

i wont lie.. i have taken it to the people who run the site

your ad ons are interfering with the operation of the site, and creating a headache for me.

if he approves, you will be facing bans. so heads up.

- Dozzer

Have you also mentioned why I am using it?

I don't use it on my PC. This sight interferes with the operation of my iPad. Severally.

My Adblock causes only Refs a very mild annoyance.

I never used Adblock before the scrolling ads and redirection.

We'll see. The east is a poop show with respect to the wildcard positions, so who knows? At this point I guess that NYI, TBL, PIT, MON are in, WSH-TOR are up in the air.
- lumlums

Pit, NYI, NYR, Wash
Tampa, MTL, Det, Bos/Fla

Toronto will be battling with Boston, Florida, Washington for the 2 wildcards. Columbus/Philly and Ottawa may also make a run.

Assuming Washington makes it, and that is very likely, then Toronto will have to beat both Boston and Florida. ... unless Detroit falters, then Toronto only has to beat Boston or Florida.

I do not see a likely scenario where Toronto makes it.

The scrolling ad goes fulling across the page and loads slowly. Also affects the load speed of the site on every page.

I give up on #3 but many here are starting to get it and have turned.
- LeafMan

I'm taking the predictable view on this. In March we'll all be convinced that the Leafs defence is awesome .."top 3 in the league" …and our offence blows chunks.

Im not so sure about these 3 game stats

whats the stats on the 3 teams we played? are they heavy shot teams?

I just dont see holding the Kings and Jackets to low shot totals a big deal

the 3rd game vs the Caps we got trashed 6-2

the SJ game coming up, if they can do it vs the Sharks then ill buy in

- PinkSock

Except that I could EASILY believe Los Angeles and Columbus would have racked up 35+ shots if Carlyle was still the coach.

They are playing more sound defense over this tiny sample size of 2 games.

So let's concentrate on the future and implement a system where, in future, the team can be successful and not blow a 3 goal lead in 10 minutes when they eventually make the playoffs.

This is the second one I've used. First one was decent, didn't do this, but was a trial version and expired.

Might spring for the full version of it.

I haven't been on much he last few weeks and this is why...

It's not going to be easy, but I wouldn't mark Washington;s place in ink. They've been good recently, but were bad to start and are not what I would call a consistent team. Detroit have a young team, and just an injury or two could really hinder them, same with Florida.

most expected the team would make an effort the first 5-6 games, no? the fear was things will be back to normal after that

The small sample size is the biggest thing. Its super difficult to change an entire playing system within a couple days.

and considering it hasnt resulted in a win yet may suggest it the wrong route to go. Although I will say that not having watched any of your last couple games I cant judge.

You have to understand how annoying it is for refs, if the app that works is cheaper than a season ticket, then purchase it please.

Exactly.

Change the system, change the players that need to be changed.
