So he
A) didn't quit on his team during the playoffs?
B) assault a Buffalo News employee?
C) didn't basically write Ted Nolan's ticket out of town?
D) drive his car head-on into the median on the 33 because he was hammered?
E) snub the Sabres, who gave him his opportunity to start in the NHL, when he said, "I'll be a Red Wing FOREVER"?
2nd hand stories?
Nah.
Douche?
Yep. - grand-magus
You know all these facts first hand ? Let it go . He was one our best players ever. Do you know the history behind every situation ? Were you personally involved in any of these so called douchebag situations? Folks in Buffalo just love to dwell on misery.

He had incidents and a lot of these guys had incidents. Some guys had incidents and some guys were like Michael Peca. He and his wife looked like those people who come in the stock photo of your picture frame. |

By those standards, Barnaby is a douche, Jim Kelly is a douche, Rob Ray is a Duche, Darryl Talley is a Douche, Andre Reed is a douche, Bruce Smith is a Douche and many more Buffalo legends are Duche's.
Dude is hard core drunk. Thats what you get with hardcore drunks. Besides who hasn't wanted to assault a Buffalo News employee from time to time. Can't hate him because he actually had the balls to do it. - Buffalo-Sabres
I've said it several times here: big time players have big time personalities. The successful teams are the ones that figure out how to work with them. The inadequate ones, like the majority of the ones in our market, are the ones that cower away from them. |

Is it?
If it is its evidence of a broken system. Teams like Chicago and Pittsburgh were bad because of bad all around management. Both teams lost tons of fan support as a result. Both acquired generational star talent and simultaneously got their act together. Both on the ice and in fan report. Edmonton acquired generational talents and refuses to get its act together and its Canada so fan support is inevitable.
The Sabres have good intentions, good fan support, good owners ship, fantastic financial situation and good management. Why should they have to stoop so low? - Buffalo-Sabres
Because building a championship team requires getting a player (sometimes players) worth building around. Those types of players aren't available by simply throwing money at them, not anymore. No matter how much money you have, greatness is most often achieved organically, especially in today's environment. |

The people he was disputing with were in the process of stealing 3.2 Billion dollars. Michael Peca wanted a $300,000 raise to bring his salary from roughly 1.3 million per to 1.9. All that for captaining the Sabres to the Stanley cup. The Rigases put more than that up their nose. |

Edmonton east.
Seriously though, i have faith in GMTM. I have a feeling he evaluates his pieces this summer and starts a serious build, no matter who he gets. Build around your best draft picks. |

Thank you for supporting my point.
Peca was a serious, serious loss. Would have loved to see him retire a Sabre.

You could write a novel on the drama that was the Buffalo Sabres from 1997-2002. |

Great. He was one of our best players ever.
Still a douche.
It's too bad you can no longer question the late, great Jim Kelley, because he spotted Hasek's BS a mile away.

Jets hired Chan Gailey as offensive coordinator.
Gailey, 63, has been out of the league since being fired as the Bills' head coach following the 2012 season, but he was Bowles' top choice to run the offense. Gailey went 16-32 across three seasons in Buffalo, but was able to make Ryan Fitzpatrick a serviceable starting quarterback and squeezed 1,703 total yards and eight touchdowns on 250 touches out of C.J. Spiller in an electrifying 2012 campaign. If the Jets choose to keep Percy Harvin at his $10.5 million salary, it could mean big things for him. Gailey likes to spread his offense out and run fast. He was Chip Kelly before Chip Kelly was a thing. We like the hire for the Jets.
