Grigorenko starts next year with the big club unless they feel they can sneak him through waivers.
He's waiver eligible next year.
This season might be a make or brake year with this organization. - dadeadhead
that would be a big mistake |

Agreed but stranger things have happened.
My guess is he is included in a deal to land a winger. |

Difference is this isn't the environment for a 20 year old to produce
They need to be insulated, the more talent that's here the more they can bring them along slowly
If Vanek was 20 on today's Sabres he isn't scoring 20 plus as a rookie - sbroads24
The Sabres weren't great when they drafted Housley at #6 out of HS and he produced, I forgot to mention Turgeon picked #1, not a lot of talent then either. It's not all about numbers either. Grigorenko isn't showing the skills and talent I had hoped to see..yet. |

I have a feeling he's kept in hopes of turning it around on a better team next season. I doubt he's here when we are good though |

I agree, I mentioned I talked to a Buff News staffer, not a writer, who talked to TM at The Sawnnie House and he didn't speak glowingly of him and said "I didn't draft him" |

To be fair, this isn't just a team with not a lot of talent, it's one of the worst teams in decades. We have a future 2nd line winger playing the role of #1 center. We have an average player in Matt Moulson as our premier goal scorer. |

They weren't great but they were a playoff team in 81/82.
The Housley pick was a pick they obtained from LA when they traded Korab.
The Andreychuk pick was their own at 16(only 21 players were selected in the 1st rd) |

Personally I think we can make a big improvement next season.
Make a trade for a legit top 6 LW.
Bring up Pysyk/McCabe
Armia will be full time
Grigorenko will be full time
McDavid could be here
Zadorov grooms half a season in Rochester
Sign a top 9 FA - sbroads24[url]
Can we trade for a top line LW? Easier said than done. And if we do, I'm guessing we'd have to give up Myers which creates a hole on defense
Grigorenko, Armia, Reinhart and likely even McDavid won't be consistent in their 1st nhl seasons
I'm guessing it's not till 2016 that we start to see some real improvement |

I feel the same. I cant look at any of prospects and think yup, hes gonna be a 35+ goal guy. |

Was it the trade for Korab or Rick Martin? Anyway, there have been young players who have played a strong game and produced and we are waiting for some of our prospects to even light it up in Rochester like Pominville and Roy did. |

Martin was the trade that got them Barrasso. |

We have 2 late 1sts, 2 2nds and a ton of prospects. Myers doesn't have to move
I'd package both picks plus say Foligno for a 30 goal scorer. Wingers are available every year |

I'd actually look to the Hawks to try and pry Sharp away
.they need cap relief soon.
Blues 1st plus another piece |

Those were two bad trades by the Kings, I'm too lazy to go back and see who their GM was but that guy gave us two top 6 picks for an injured player in Martin and an old, slow Dman in Korab. |

I agree as well
Hodgson has no trade value right now
Unless he's in some kind of a package I don't see him being traded yet |

Since u brought up Colorado...
I hope we do NOT trade for O'Reilly
I think it's pretty much a sure thing tht he tests the market to get the biggest possible contract
I like him a lot, but considering what it'll take to get him, it's too risky that he'll walk after next season and we lose him for nothing

The next 5 games are pretty important for the tank effort. The Sabres could win 3 of these games easily. |

Definitely heard him say it last night, and it was definitely before the 3rd period since I shut it off after 2. |

Myers- 36 games played - 1 goal - 7 assists - 8 points - (-7) - 45 penalty minutes
58 shots - 1.70 shooting %
Weber- 35 games played - 1 goal - 5 assists - 6 points - (-11) - 43 penalty minutes
18 shots - 5.60 shooting %
Yep, Myers is certainly head and shoulders above Weber
Gotta run... |

He can be recalled to the big club with no risk, it's now only when being sent down that you have to clear anything - so he will likely start in Rochester and be there for a while until they're "completely" sure he's going to stay full time. |
