Oh, no mocking intended. In my league. we're always chirping each others game play. Especially when someone who never gets a goal, finally pots a pumpkin in the garden. An obvious off sides, falling while hopping the boards...

I'm torn as to whether I want that to happen or not. The tank is going so well. Why mess with success?

Nah. The numbers arent even close. We are worse than Edmonton. The difference between us in the standings is that we won 6 shootouts and EDM plays in a much tougher conference.

And this discussion around here heading into the season people thought we would be better this year after moves Murray made. What a genius. I remember debating with someone over how this team was going to score 200 goals because we had several 30 and 20 goal scorers on the team, I cant remember if it was kept or deadhead. Boy that was a wild expectation.

I said the same type of things. I didn't think there would be a huge improvement over last season, but I thought there would at least be a small amount of improvement.

Then again, I guess I didn't realize that Benoit would be so awful. And you never know what Meszaros is going to do on a nightly basis. Some night's he looks absolutely awful, other's I don't mind him at all.

special teams
and basic hockey skills up front are the big issues

aside from heart, grit, effort, determination

just flat out brutal

This season you may feel it is unwatchable. As more of the kids come along next year it should get better. I will take one unwatchable season for 7 - 10 very watchable ones. Seems like a fair trade to me. Sorry you don't feel that way . Tired of just missing the playoffs and first round exits . Willing to try something different

Don't know if you're still lurking, back to last nights convo. I got thinking about what I said and what you said. I understand not wanting to do the same thing and be the 9th place team. Don't get me wrong, I'm not mad at the Sabres for tanking. Its a strategy. To achieve a goal you must have a strategy. I'm just mad it isnt working better.

I think the NHL needs a more honest system. They need to cap the number of first overall picks a team can have over a given stretch of years to block teams like Edmonton from what they are doing. The also should have an exemption a team could cash in once every 10-15 years that says its officially a tank season. Let them go a certain % under the salary cap for the season without penalty. Put it right out there for every one to see. Just a thought.
