We might be but if we're being fair, I think we're playing way better tonight being down then we did Saturday. Some feel we played well against Boston. I don't. Zepp haa been fantastic tonight but he allowed three against Tampa and Emery allowed three against Boston.

i think giroux deserves to be considered in that same category. i mean people go back and forth as to what elite or whatever the label actually means and how far it applies, but he has done nothing but show over the last few years that he is one of the top guys at his position in the game.

to be fair, other peoples injuries have played a role in getting to hold that title. (although admittedly, availability/remaining healthy is part of the gig)

i knew hed get a fairly inflated deal due to the market and just how things are, but i always thought niskanen was pretty solid. definitely wasnt going to maintain that level of offensive production on a different team in a different role, but he brings a good transition element thats important in todays game.

i still cant think of orpiks deal without laughing. good for him.
