In my opinion they did. Colaiacovo wasn't very good, but in fairness, it's his first game in a long time.

Schenn was strong as was amac. CC was rough around the edges. I just like how they moved the puck as a group.

Niskanen laid the hit. Didn't look like a very damaging hit, just a solid one.

He's a plus 5. Starts on the PK and most defensive situation. Stepped ip his offense this season. He's never seen the third pair or a healthy scratch.

I was impressed considering how cold he was.

I agree, not because of the numbers he's putting up, but for the lack of any other d-man stepping up this year.

The fact that Schultz is even mentioned says a lot about the state of the backline.

i agree on the latter part. typically i would think it would be coburn, but even prior to the injury he has had a rough year.

i dont think the offensive numbers can be totally dismissed though. no, if you have a solid stay at home guy who holds down the fort every night, but you also have a guy like alex goligoski who puts up say 35 points to the other guys 18, then yeah. i wouldnt automatically just look at the numbers. but, the ability to provide offense, specifically when it comes to helping to spring/set up the forwards, is part of the job description of a defensive unit as a whole. so i think it should definitely come into play.

There was only one goal scored in the game, and it was tight checking. I'm going to give him a pass for not playing in a long time, but he wasn't very good.

He should keep playing while Mason is out. Probably go Emery tomorrow, just because of the back to back, but I'd keep running Zepp out there.

That left pad save on Fehr was awesome .

Came out playing like poop. Caps are good defensively. Flyers have allowed the first goal in 2/3 of their games. They're just not a good team

yes, they were flat. but got much better about 10 minutes in. they played a good game. i agree that they're not a good team though.
