I'm on board with this. This team is going to sink or swim due to how Mason plays. If Mason's out/not playing well, it won't matter who the backup is. I think Emery is a better goalie than Zepp, but I wouldn't have a problem with them using Zepp as the backup for the remainder of this year into the next year or two. It would also give Stolarz the lion's share of work in the AHL. If they could get something in the realm of a 5th round pick or better for Emery, I'd do it.

I agree that any player not viewed as part of the future should be available for trade, but if we moved all of those players, we'd have to fill half of the lineup with our AHL team, as the following would most likely not be on the roster:

Streit
Umberger
Lecavalier
Del Zotto
Schultz
Grossmann
Van de Velde
Coburn
L. Schenn
Coliacovo
Rinaldo
Read (possibly)
B. Schenn (possibly)

That's up to 13 roster spots to fill. I'd like to limit that to maybe 3-5 at most.

Got to be too expensive. The Flyers could be #1 overall in the League, and I would've made the same decision.
