I hear ya, goosie...only prob is that minny likes him, and won't move him, for those very same reasons
- Michael Pachla

I said before that I would trade Vanek straight up for him. People told me I was crazy. I just really like the kid.

sounds like Peggy is going to be a control freak

for $1.4B, he probably feels entitled to hear about anything and everything going on with the bills...methinks, and really hopes, he lets his guys do what they were hired to do

they're pretty close to falling out of the race as we speak, aren't they?...
- Michael Pachla

8 points back I think now, but have what should be an easy stretch of games starting tomorrow. Thats why its imperative that Fletcher act asap. If they lose to the Sabres its probably safe to assume Yeo is gone, and Fletcher maybe as well.

I really wouldn't be surprised if we ended up trading say Coyle and a mid level pick or prospect for Steward and Enroth. I think Fletch realizes he needs to go big with this trade or risk alienating the fan base even further and his job by missing the playoffs.
- mnhockeyguy

So basically what you're saying is that Fletcher hasn't quite taken on enough of the Buffalo players that were unsuccessful of bringing home the prize in Buffalo yet?

Crawford, for as much flak as he takes from some fans, shows up for the Playoffs and wins. Raanta and Darling both look legit as well. They are pretty good...
- mnhockeyguy

appreciate you pointing out their goalie strength...after a quick look, they look particularly deep...

If Fletcher does that, he buys himself a bit of time before he gets the axe too.

Penguins claim Mark Arcobello off waivers from Nashville

So basically Nashville just gave Roy to Edmonton

Haha doesn't it seem so? He's in love with players from the East. I wouldn't be surprised if he put in a waiver claim on Roy just so he could reunite the old top line from Buffalo.

Yeah Im afraid that's whats going to happen. The Wild has trouble against fast teams, which Buffalo seems to be.

The only reason it ended up being a trade and not a waiver claim in the first place is because Edmonton didn't want to just take on another contract. They're close to the limit. So Nashville took Arcobello basically as a throw away in the first place.

Edmonton could have waived him as well, but there were no guarantees that he would have been claimed.

There is no way that they can fall out. Given the age of their team they absolutely have to go for it. That's also why I don't think the coach lasts the week.

Ellis shoots and the rebound goes ten feet off of Backstrom's pad to Kaleta's stick who turns, knocks Spurgeon down, and still has time to score on Backstrom before he slides into position.
